Headlight restoration- How do you guys make it look so easy?

My process starts with 800 (if they are really bad) then goes 1500, 2000,3000. Follow with menz compound and then SIP. Stopping at 1200 is definitely one of your issues.

    Digging My New Wheel Brush

I tend to one two punch my wheels. Hit the faces with a boars hair 8in brush I got from Griot's and the barrels with the daytona. It may splatter but if you stand the the side of the wheel and pull/push parallel to your chest the only thing that will get any spatter on it is your hands or...

How-To capture swirls, scratches, etchings and other surface defects with your camera

For those with a DSLR, it is far easier to capture the defects in paint by switching off the auto focus.

Trouble finding defects with white paint?

Not anymore... Stumbled across this around Halloween when I was dinking around with my work light and colored bulbs. Just change the light color you're working with. My tests suggest that orange works the best. This one is shown on my old white wagon (doesn't get treated like it should) using...

    Swirls, Swirls, Swirls....and more

Posts have nothing to do with detailing... Also, the want/need/curiosity to try new products will lead to rather large collections. I have enough supplies to fully detail maybe 60 cars at the moment and my monthly level of business is only 3-4 cars maximum. I hardly see how that is relevant to...

    My pad cleaner

Brilliance only comes after buying 6 different buckets and then having one very nice forum member send me a set that worked perfectly. Then two days later I had a face palm moment and realized I coulda just shimmed em up.

    My pad cleaner

Why don't you just shim the grit guard? Should hold it in place and save you from having a ton o buckets lying around

Sever paint restoration of an Evo

A lot of those evo's actually had single stage paints. They will tell you it was for weight reduction, I think it was more a cost cutting strategy... Great turn around on this one OP.

My experience with WDGPS and Liquid Souveran

Just took a look at the car/color combo, IMO I would like the deeper/wetter look that many talk about on here. It would bring me into the car and color and make me say.... oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh (like fireworks). That dark red looks like it would be an awesome candidate...

My experience with WDGPS and Liquid Souveran

I only said out of sight so that if he didn't like it, it wouldn't be punching him in the face every time he looks at the car. I guess, the next obvious question is what type of car is this burgundy car of yours.
