Differences and benefits to hydrotech pads

^ Didn't your mother tell you it was rude to point out someone stuttering haha... Also, would the Menz twins work well with these pads, just tried the XMT polishes and was not satisfied with them. Thinking about going the german route ;)

Differences and benefits to hydrotech pads

Aside from the obvious flat surface compared to the CCS pads.... Do you really get a longer work time? How well do they actually finish down (cyan especially)? Personal experiences from those who have used both sets? Interested in trying them and wanted to hear what others have to say about...

    Issue with black plastic B-pillars

I get the feeling that either the XMT line is hard to work with (i.e. I don't know use the brand well). It looks like the polishes don't get worked long enough (sandpaper-esque look) even after 3-4 mins. Hopefully some others will have some suggestions. This recent issue has left me...

    Issue with black plastic B-pillars

Keep in mind this is all that I could capture with the camera's flash and a flash-light as the wonderful Northwest was not kind enough to let the sun shine today.

    Issue with black plastic B-pillars

You may have seen an earlier thread where I had an issue with these pillars. I have XMT polishes 1-3 and 360. I also have CCS 5.5' orange, white, grey, and blue pads. The car is a 2010 VW GTI. In my experience every GTI I've come across has the soft b-pillar issue. Today I came through again...

    Diluting Optibond tire gel

Thanks, I have a brush lying around that could work for that. I normally cut up some cheap car wash sponges and wipe and dab to get those little lines nicely covered. BTW A4, I may have to come raid your collection, I see some nice stuff in the background of that pic ;)

    Diluting Optibond tire gel

I was assuming that as it is printed on the bottle, however I was more interested in the results with a 1:1 dilution using a trigger sprayer on a 32 or 20 oz bottle.

    Diluting Optibond tire gel

Have you guys done the 1:1 dilution in a regular 32oz bottle and had good results with it? Just curious as it says to use the air gun with the 1:1 dilution.

    Buckets!

It doesn't float to the top, just about 2 or 3 inches off the bottom...

    Buckets!

I might because i never use the full 4 or so gallons and the floating GG are rather annoying. They also probably aren't doing what is intended.

New to XMT polishes...what went wrong?

I'll give it a whirl tomorrow, thank you for the advice. For the pressure I was pushing until the pad was moving maybe at an even speed that was a lot slower than just the weight of the machine. I hope that made sense. The thing I've noticed of the XMT polishes (in my short time of use) is that...

New to XMT polishes...what went wrong?

I normally don't do this but would like some suggestions as I ran out of my other polish and have a car to do in 2 days. Soo bump...

New to XMT polishes...what went wrong?

Thanks for the offer man. I might take you up on that if there isn't much help on the boards or maybe try and get a sample or two from you, I'll pay shipping of course. It's a bit of a trip unless I can't figure it out. I'll keep your offer in mind though :)

New to XMT polishes...what went wrong?

That's what I felt about it as well, then again there may just be a trick to working with it. I don't know, But what better place to ask then the AG boards. If it matters, #2 was done at 5500 on a PC and the #1 at 4,000.
