Have you tried a technique called sheeting? You might want to check it out. I always "sheet" my car and then dry it. Makes drying 10x quicker. http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/auto-detailing-101/24234-water-sheeting.html

Never done a 458 before, but I can tell you from my first luxury sports car detail (Aston), its nerve racking at first. But once you get into your groove it just seems to become like any other car. Like stated before, prep is key. I went over just about every square inch of that car to inspect...

If I was in that position I would have done the same thing. I would rather have a perfect car and look like an idiot rather then knowing the people washing my car are messing up all the hard work I put into keeping the car perfect.

If you are not doing any supporting mods IMO its not worth the money. Now if you are doing full exhaust, tune ect. might as well throw a CAI in.
