Two bucket vs Garry Dean wash

I am not sure what the benefits of a waterless wash is, except perhaps in the winter. I find I use a lot of the water I saved in the car wash for doing extra laundry. I have used waterless for a quick cleaning when the car wasn't to dirty. Might be a bit faster but not sure how much water I am...

Finally tried the Wolfgang fuzion yesterday

How is the durability of the Fuzion as compared to the Pinnacle Soveran wax? I love the Soveran but it doesn't last too long

getting mulch out of microfiber towels?

You can try running them in your dryer on a cool fluff cycle. This might help to separate out the mulch from the fabric. I know it gets the dog hair out of my futon cover. If this does not work you may be out of luck. If you have young children you can try to make a game of it by giving them one...

Maintanence wash vs. full wash, How often

I always thought it was the foam and suds that got you the proper lube factor to keep from marring your paint. I guess that isn't the case anymore. I also used to think that with water and soap you scrub the car less than using waterless wash or two bucket no rinse method. The old rinse, soapy...

Maintanence wash vs. full wash, How often

Hello All, I just was wondering how often you are doing a full wash (as in rinse, foam, rinse and wash) vs perhaps a waterless or rinse-less type of wash? I find that by doing the rinse less 2 bucket method with onr every 5-7 days the car has been keeping clean for these last few weeks. I...

    What polish for good paint

I have been using the florescent lighting in my garage to judge the finish. I don't have a swirl finder light at this point. While there is some minor swirls the finish it is in overall good shape. I figure to give it the full treatment in the spring regardless as I anticipate another rough...

    What polish for good paint

My car is fairly new and I have been careful with the paint on it. I don't really have any swirls or correction to do. I just want to polish it up for the fall before I put a wax on it. What are some recommended products? Would a aio be recommended? I am thinking a two step process would yield...

How can you tell if your Al wheels are coated

Yes these are the factory wheels on a TDI jetta. They don't look like bare metal to me. Just wanted to be sure. I guess they are painted or coated then. Do they need any protective sealant of some sort? Thanks

How can you tell if your Al wheels are coated

I was looking at the Meguiars D140 wheel cleaner but it states not to use on uncoated wheels. Im not sure on my 2014 VW Jetta.

Brand New they say...2014 Lexus ES350 in for full paint correction plus Powelock Sealant.

Fine work indeed... It's a shame that even a high end car line like Lexus won't pay for a delivery crew that knows what they are doing. I guess they think it cuts into the profits.

    Dealer ignorance

Many dealerships pay minimum wage to their car detail crew. My Nissan salesman told me they had difficulty finding anyone who could pass the drug test. They used a detail shop just down the road to prep their new cars for delivery. I told him I wasn't surprised as they did not offer any real...

    a question on polishing?

Thanks Mike, It's a 2003 Nissan altima. I wash with a boar brush and Pinnacle shampoo. I use a microfiber towel for drying. I have kept up with the paint since it was new. I have used the Klass aio once a year with my flex to clean up the paint, but I guess its time for a more thorough...

    a question on polishing?

I waxed my car only last week after a wash and clay. I used the souveran wax. Now I think I should have polished it first as I am not getting the proper shine anymore. Can I polish the car after washing or do I need to strip the wax first? Feed back please I have M205 polish and the clear coat...

Best wax for the daily driver.

Hello All, I have been using Pinnacle Souveran paste wax on my dark blue Jetta which gives amazing results. However this wax is not as long lasting as I would like it to be. I was wondering if anybody found similar shine in a longer lasting product?
