    Menz PO85RD and Speed setting

3401, black LC Flat, couple clicks under speed 6, very light pressure. Work until translucent. Unsure if that's the "correct" way as opinions vary, but it seems to work quite well for me.

    Powergloss or M105 ?

2nded. When I used it last on my car looked like it'd been snowing. Misting with a QD? You're holding out on us Mike. Feed back please

    Powergloss or M105 ?

M105 is dusts quite a bit too. Pick up a bottle of Megs Ultimate Compound. In my limited experience (I rarely need a compound. 95% of what I work on are cars that I maintain for clients.) UC has probably 80-90% of the cut that M105 has with much less dust. Quite cheap as well.

Finally bought a Flex XC 3401VRG

PCXP is quite a bit more useful than the Griots 3". If you can swing the extra cash, totally worth it.

    Diablo Gel -vs- Sonax

I'm sure what Rsurfer is implying is that you simply aren't going to find something like that. It doesn't exist at this point. And if it does, someone needs to spill the beans and let us all in on it, like right now.

Good off the counter car shampoo?

Another vote for Duragloss or Megs Gold Class. I'd avoid Megs UW&W.

Those who have Meguiars Wheel Brightener

Strongest I've ever been brave enough to try is 6:1. Gave my father-in-law's Tahoe a full detail for his birthday. Poor truck gets ran through the tunnel o' swirl once in a blue moon. WB @ 6:1 chewed right through months of buildup on his factory wheels. I'm afraid any stronger than that may...

'68 Mustang GT. Sadly, my Mustang isn't DHG and doesn't have a 390 under the hood.

    Disappointing products

Meguiar's Ultimate Wash & Wax I bought this thinking I could replace Optimum Car Wash with an OTC product available at Wally World. I was quite wrong. Yesterday morning I set out to wash our vehicles. First up was my wife's Edge sporting a 2 week old coating of DP Poli-Coat. Now in my...

Optimum Car Wax ( OCW ) First Impressions

+1 When I first got my bottle I was spraying it directly on the panels. Even with a cool panel I still got streaks. Spraying it on the MF and then wiping eliminated that problem. Love me some OCW. Sometimes no matter how much I want to break out the Supernatural I just don't want to put forth...

    Love this car

I'd love to have a classic. Hopefully one day I'll have the means to start a project car. Classics are just head-turners. I can pull up beside a new Challenger and think "Yeah, cool car." and go about my business. Switch that new one out with a '70 R/T and I will seriously go out of my way just...

I knew it would happen sooner or later, but it still sucks

I'd run outside and take a picture of the front of my car and chin spoiler but it would simply depress me. Long story short, last week (on my vacation no less) I got stuck in traffic behind a flatbed landscaping truck. Fair dip in the roadway going about 50, all sorts of little pebbles come...

SIP and 106FA. I've got a bottle of CG3n. Think of it along the lines of PO203.

    Nice Sunday

Washed my Mustang and her Fusion. Fresh coat of SSII on the Fusion. It was really, really hot.

People want detailing done for pennies!!!

Most people don't understand the difference between quality work and the $10 car wash they get from the dealership's "detailer" either. I do enjoy the looks I get when I tell folks how long such and such will take though. I had a Altima interior-only the other day. When I told the lady around...

    What Now?? After detail.

There you go. FYI, if nothing catastrophic happens (like a trip to the bodyshop and their "detailer" hacking up my paint again) I polish my car once a year. Never had it take anything more than 106FA. In between polishes odds are you will pick up some minor swirls. If you've got it bad like...
