    Opti-seal dressing??

I always do, don't think it's required though. Habit I guess. It isn't all that thick to begin with, not like other products, but the warmer it gets outside the runnier it seems. Then again maybe that's just the crazy humidity down here. Who knows?

    Opti-seal dressing??

You're talking about Opti-Bond Gel? I've tried it on trim and decent results, but it's definitely not what I want in a trim dressing. I suggest hitting a craft store and picking up some small foam brushes. Pour a bit in a Dixie cup and dilute it 50/50 with water. Gives it a better consistency...

    Your customers weak spot

I've got a gentleman who always checks the shifter boot in his Corvette. I maintain the car for him, have been for a couple years now, and every single time he seems genuinely surprised that it's been cleaned and protected.

Definitely my favorite body style M3. Love the sound of that I6. Great work.

Anyone using the AG Detailer's Tool Bag?

I've got 3 now. One I use specifically for all my interior products, one for polishes/sealants, and one for the huge amount of brushes I carry around. Locutus hit it on the head. The 32oz spray bottles like the ones from the Meguiar's Detailer line aren't gonna fit all that well. I suggest...

What paint sealants last the longest?

:iagree: Don't let it dry like I did. PITA to remove.

What paint sealants last the longest?

Out of my limited sealant experience. Longest life to shortest: Klasse Four Star UPP Wolfgang/Blackfire Jetseal 109/Opti-Seal I left out Collinite 845 because I'm really unsure as to what it actually is. Menzerna Power Lock left out as well because I've yet to find it's limit. Believe we're...

    Optimum products...

OCW is great stuff as well. I got a sample awhile back, order a bottle about a week later. I sometimes use it as a topper on my car and more often as a stand-alone on those "wash and shine" jobs where the client isn't looking to spend a lot of time or money. Durability isn't bad at all either.

    Hardest part of detailing?

Finding enough time to care for my own car. In all seriousness, I'm going to say the actual detail work. Polishing metals in difficult areas is a particular pain that I'm not fond of. Not only that, but certain things seems to be manufactured to be difficult to polish, Whipple superchargers for...

Carpet and Leather Cleaning Product Recommendations

As far as application I'd avoid putting the product directly on the leather itself. Put your product of choice on a MF applicator pad, working it into the pad a bit, then apply to the leather. You use a bit more product but huge blobs inside the perforations shouldn't happen.

    Waxes vs Sealants

There are some liquid carnauba waxes, but yeah, mostly pastes. They're a sort of mixed bag to be honest. I shy away from most all of them save Pinnacle Liquid Souveran, Collinite 845 (correct me if I'm wrong someone, IIRC it does actually have carnuba), and Optimum Car Wax. You do need to allow...

    View my cart before purchase.

If you're planning on a Poorboy's wax, Natty's Red for your color. Difference in price is like $2 IIRC. Autoglym HD is one of my favorites also now that it's OTC and lost a lot of it's pricetag. Try Optimum Car Wash as well.

New paint from body shop = time to break out the Flex and SIP

Amen to that. I had my own run-in with a bodyshop "detailer" not too long ago. It's amazing that someone who considers themselves a professional can be so horrible at what they do.

Whats your top waxes for red, black, and silver??

The wax is only as good as the job it's meant to protect. That being said, on top of a properly finished surface, Supernatural can compete with anything on the market for depth and clarity in my opinion.

O.C.Detailing (Lynchburg, VA.) 1995 Land Rover Discovery SEVERE Oxidation!

Very nice turnaround man. Could you describe how the Surbuf pads behave with 105? They look as if they would try to "grab" a lot to me? Or are they really not much different than normal foam?

    Amazing Roll-Off question...

+1 Gloves are a must when detailing. $15 for a 100pack here. $15 or a helluva lot of pain and suffering later.

Why is the Flex 3401 considered so powerful?

This topic is like the undead cat a friend of mine told me about. Simply will not go quietly. You crazy kids and your debates. :buffing:
