    Post your spring detailing process!

Get the car up on stands. Remove wheels. Soak with D103 @ 4:1 and scrub everything in sight. More D103 @ 4:1 on wheels/tires. Dry and seal with 2 coats of Opti-Seal. Opti-Bond on tires. Foam car with CG CW&C @ paint prep ratio. 2BM wash with more CG CW&C. Clay. Tape. Inspect. Judging from what...

    Storage of Detailing supplies

For all my MF towels and foam pads I've got 3 of these: They're fairly big, probably 22" wide by 14" deep. $12 each at WalMart around back-to-school. For all my chemicals I've got a plastic shed thing. 3x6, maybe 18" deep, 3 shelves inside with room for my buckets/gallon containers on the...

    Your take of "1 pass"?

1 pass for me means I've fully broken down the polish 1 time.

what is a great leather cleaner product

The other Lexol Leather cleaner/conditioners are fairly mediocre in my experience. So I'd be a little wary of trying it. I think AG has a small bottle for like $7 though. Might be worth a shot. Aside from Leatherique I like Optimum Leather Protectant. Works great on leather and both interior...

    Favorite smelling product?

Tie between XMT 360 and FK 425 for me. I love cherries and XMT 360 smells like a jar full. FK 425 reminds me of a fresh pack of Big League Chew.

    QD: Decisions, Decisions...

Another vote for FK 425. In addition to being an awesome QD, it smells like a fresh pack of Big League Chew. That alone is worth the price imo.

1 step polishes. which do you like the best?

My feelings exactly. I was quite surprised how much XMT 360 can correct. Klasse AIO is a great product though. I use it on wheels/jambs/glass all the time.

    '02 Mustang

I went through the same thing when I was 18, except mine was a '90 vert. Everytime I got stopped for no apparent reason other than having a modded car it pissed me off. Do yourself a favor and just go with it. Back on topic. Looks great man. These black cars are a disease. Every time I've...

The GG polisher is as good as the 3401?

I can't really fathom how you're coming up with all this. Staying with this line of thought, rotary's are absolutely in the basement in terms of correction, seeing as they are 100% forced rotation, and random orbits are at the top of the food chain. In reality it's exactly the opposite. A...

How often would you have to do paint correction on a DD?

I polish my (black) daily driver once a year. Coming up on my year in March, I've got some very fine swirling which will be easily corrected with 106FA on a LC Black.

PR: XMT 360™ Corrects, Cleans, Seals

That's kinda odd. I find that 360 works for what seems like forever. Used it at all since your post?

    Flex ?

Going from an (original) model 7424 to the 3401 will cut your polishing time quite a bit. There was a video somewhere, maybe a year ago, showing side-by-side polishing of a panel using 106fa. The Flex machine broke it down and finished over a minute earlier if I remember correctly. I don't time...

2009 Z06 in a rare Jetstream Blue Metallic by DJ Mayo aka Got Leather

Great work. Owner hit a homerun with the color combos on that car.

    Making first purchase

Pads tend to gum up a bit when compounding and polishing and lose their cutting power. Not bad at all for a first purchase. I would definately look into some quality microfiber though. AG sells a few kits that you may want to look into.

    Help me pick new products

I use 1Z Gummi Pflege for the rubber seals and (normally) 303 Aerospace Protectant for all plastics/vinyl. I just picked up a bottle of Optimum Leather Protectant though. Heard nothing but good things about it so if it works well it may replace 303 in my cabinet. For the tires, Opti-Bond Tire...
