Waterpots on Brushed Aluminum and Brushed Steel

I've done commercial and residential cleaning off and on part-time since 2001 and learned the vinegar trick there. It can make a huge difference IME, but the most important thing I've found is to allow it to dwell. Like Forrest said, wet a towel with vinegar and let it dwell on it for a while...

    Is there any hope?

How many section passes did you do with UC? The ones that you can feel are unfortunately too deep to correct without sanding or touch-up paint.

Waterpots on Brushed Aluminum and Brushed Steel

I agree with Forrest on both points here.

    Is there any hope?

Can you feel the remaining blemishes with your fingernail? In other words, if you run your fingernail perpendicular, does it catch in the scratches?

    Garage setup

Can I have your garage? I mean, your car would be nice too. But your garage. Is. Awesome. To the OP, I store the majority of my products on the plastic shelving units you can purchase at Home Depot or Lowe's. Simple enough. Bulk at the bottom, smaller products at the top. They're inexpensive...

I think that legally, any bartering has to be reported as taxable income. How's that for nice?

how much would you charge???? just curious

+1 OP, I think your $50 sounds fair. For close friends I personally would charge less, but most of them have helped me with things before at low or no cost. However, I think it's completely legitimate to charge something to recoup supplies and some money toward time spent. Family, I might do...

brinkmann dual led/halogen rechargeable spotlight - repairable

I have a halogen. Followed Zach's tutorial (thanks so much, sir!), bought a battery at Batteries +, and it works like new. To the OP, the price was pretty high at Batteries +. It was around $20, so I would look around for a better deal. Or call around - I know it's a franchise but I'm...

Picked up 4 appts for tomorrow

I hear you on that!! I'm surprised how much time wheels can add. I know it wouldn't have worked in today's situation but I spent almost 5 hours on some wheels today. I'll have to look into those for wash-onlys.

Picked up 4 appts for tomorrow

Thanks for explaining! It sounds like you have a good system - I'll have to give it a try with what I've got for products. I've been trying to find a quicker, more efficient way to do a wash-only detail. Thanks again!

    Red dirt stains...

I would suggest Meguiar's Ultimate Compound or something like that. Rubbing compound with terry towel sounds like it may be a bit of overkill, but I'm thinking of the only rubbing compound named as such that I used years ago - Turtle Wax Rubbing Compound. Awful stuff.

    SSR Interior Metal Trim

It did end up being metal. Quite frankly, not sure what metal. I would guess brushed stainless? Edmunds.com says it's "alloy". Whatever it was, it had the brushed finish/matte look. It had spots of minor oxidation/corrosion on a lot of it, but they came off easily with something with a little...

Picked up 4 appts for tomorrow

Wow, that's quick, nicely done! Can you give a little more information about what all was included in the 30-45 minutes if you don't mind? Sounds like you did a waterless wash/dry, and tire shine. Did you do anything interior? Clean glass? Please tell me you didn't wax any during that time...

    2009 Honda VTX 1300

It looks very nice! You did a great job on it. What size pads did you use on the tank? What are your thoughts about detailing bikes from doing your first one? I do bikes fairly often but am still surprised often about how long they can take, especially when neglected like that. Based on size...

    SSR Interior Metal Trim

What do I have on hand? A lot, mostly Meguiar's. Obviously it depends what material it ends up being as far as what product I would use. While I do still have some Hot Rims Aluminum Polish (yumm, cinnamon), I highly, highly doubt it is bare aluminum. Beside that, what I'll plan to bring (and...
