    Post Your Detailing Collection

I'm going to support AG/AGO as much as I can because the people are wonderful and the knowledge is invaluable. That being said, I'm not going to go broke doing so... There are products that can only be bought here, prices that are sometimes better here, promotions such as BOGO and no-exclusion...

    Post Your Detailing Collection

I like what's on your computer in the background! ;) Their prices are amazing (saved over 30% on a recent, large order), shipping is cheap and only takes two days! Though I do still try to buy as much as I can from AG...

Heck, I'm not even a deputy recruit... It was just meant to be a friendly reminder, and was not directed at any one specific member. Seems like things in this thread have really gotten away from the original concept... Here's the original post for reference:

    Plain masking tape?

+1 In a pinch, regular masking tape will do for very short term applications, but I definitely wouldn't make a habit out of it.

    Masking Tape

1/4" for sure, but 3/4" is good to have on hand as its extremely versatile.

    Masking Tape

You want to use tape that is made for painted automotive surfaces. 3M offers at least three different "regular" automotive tapes (tan, yellow, and green). They also make a sky blue waterproof tape (Scotch 3434) that's sold in the UK. I bought some off eBay and, while its nice tape, it isn't...

Time-Lapse Video: Wetsand, Cut and Buff 1964 Malibu

Time-Lapse Video: Wetsand, Cut and Buff 1964 Malibu

Keep in mind that the Trizact 1500 Clear Coat Sanding Disc (which is identical to the Meguiar's 1500 sanding disc except for color) is different than from the Trizact 3000 and 5000 discs in that the former is a sanding disc and the latter two are finishing discs. The 1500 sanding disc is...

I love this tape. I both of those sizes plus the 3/4" width, which is great for moldings!

    7424 high speed issues

Mine actually does the opposite. Below speed 5, it acts like its on speed 1. Hit speed 5, and its like someone lit a rocket! I replaced the speed switch, but it didn't make a difference. You could try replacing the switch and see if it fixes your issue. It has worked for others. BTW...

    Wheel wells

CQuartz Dlux is awesome on plastic and rubber surfaces. I have coated most of those areas on my car and they look incredible! I do feel that it's just a little too expensive for wheel wells. For those I use CarPro PERL and dispense it with a Solo 418 handheld pressurized sprayer. This stuff...

How long do ccs pads roughly last?

They will flatten out over time and turn from CCS pads into flat pads, but thAt doesn't necessarily mean they are no longer any good.

How long do ccs pads roughly last?

Foam pads, no matter the manufacturer, will eventually wear down / wear out. That being said, pads that are well taken care of have a lifetime that spans multiple jobs. Some may disagree with me, but Lake Country makes some of the best and most advanced pads you can buy. They are by no means...
