Clear Coat Failure or Water Spot Damage

 I should have said "doesn't look like CC failure", since that's what I meant... LOL

Clear Coat Failure or Water Spot Damage

It looks to me like water spot(s). Especially if its single stage like you mention.

    13 Accord protection

I have not had a chance to fully test this yet. I am currently basing this opinion on the fact that Opti-Coat is harder and has greater scratch/mar resistance. If you put a harder substance over a softer substance, you're going to add a certain degree of protection to that softer surface. Now...

    Brand loyalty for pad choice?

I don't think Meguiar's or B&S pads suck by any means. It just happened that the pads I bought were LC, they serve me well, Eric (aka: The Pad Man) provides awesome customer service, and I have had no reason to switch to another brand. I own some Meguiar's MF pads and they've been okay, and...

Where can I find squeeze bottles locally for my Collinite 845?

Maybe I just got some bad ones. I have the WG and Blackfire ones.

Help with my technique -- side panels

Right off the bat I'd suggest smaller pads. The size of those pads on a vertical surface along with the amount of product required can be a nightmare! Try a 4" pad, I believe you'll notice a difference.

Where can I find squeeze bottles locally for my Collinite 845?

I really like the self-cleaning tips (they're the same as on the Meguiar's bottles), but the AG ones don't have the white foam gaskets that the Meguiar's ones have, and they don't stay screwed on very well either. I have had product dry out and discolor in these bottles. Additionally, they...

First minor chip on new car -what to do?

One thing that really helps me at least is using a Microbrush to apply the touch up paint. These are the same brushes (or at least very, very similar) that Griot's Garage sells in their touch up paint kit. I purchased mine (various sizes, but I prefer superfine) at a local hobby shop (10 for...

    13 Accord protection

It all depends on condition. Something as fine as Menzerna SF 4000 might be enough. More likely, Menzerna PF 2500 on a green CCS pad will be a good bet. Do a test spot first, of course... My case was a little more involved as I have removed almost all of the orange peel and I'm going for...

For removing Menzerna products, the Top Inspection is awesome. Yes, it's a bit grabby, but removing Menzerna residue has been said to be difficult - sometimes taking as many as three IPA wipe downs. Top Inspection cleans it up the first time. I would recommend a different bottle though as the...
