People that say they know detailing, but really do not.

I cringe reading those forums. I don't know why I go back.

What wash mitt do you use?!

    A sheepskin mitt.

California Duster..."The dirtier the duster gets, the better it works!"

Used mine for seven years, never washed it, and never had an issue with scratching on my black car. Took a drive today to run some errands and when I came home there was some light dust/pollen on the car. I didn't want to have to QD and buff the whole car so I used the duster, holding it above...

Unoffial Millionth Post Runners Up Giveaway!!

I just got home from work and the package was waiting for me on my front step. Thanks again Romans5.8 and especially dpk20x for the chance to try it out! The wife and I are out of town this weekend so next Saturday is when I plan on tackling the job. I'll be sure to do before and after shots as...

Which wax to make flake pop and add depth!!

I did some searching regarding this myself a while back. My car is black with metal flake and I was looking into waxes for black cars, but most of the waxes I was interested in seemed to mute the flakes according to other users. After some more searching and abandoning black waxes, I found...

Your worst and mostly costly spill?

My worst spill is from V7. I spilled some on the kitchen floor when I was transferring it to a spray bottle. Wiped it up, no problem. The problem is when I forgot and hit that slick as ice spot later in the day wearing just socks and found myself looking at the glossy floor up close. Cost me my...

    Critique my logo, please.

I think the car silhouette should be one color, the gradient seems forced and like an afterthought to try and tie in the gray. Maybe the car one color and the text another to give better contrast, especially if the logo needs to be printed in black and white for whatever reason.

Optimum No Rinse Wash and Shine?

I have both ONR (primarily for rinseless) and CG Luber. I think the Luber smells better but once it is gone I'll just use ONR for my clay lube. As for a quick detailer, ONR works for that as well but I prefer something that will leave behind a little more protection so I'm currently using CG V7...

Hey Guys What do you think?

What he said. I tried tackling my first full correction by hand because I a) didn't want to spend the money on a polisher b) was scared of ruining my paint. After all the time and effort I put in, the car looked great but there was still a lot of room for improvement (stubborn etchings, RIDS...

Do You Wash A 2nd Time After Waxing?

Waxing, no. Polishing, no, just a thorough IPA wipe down to ensure my sealant bonds well.

Wash mitts: do you put your hand inside?

Nope, never have. I guess I got it from my father who never did either. Monkey see, monkey do.

First polisher for a weekend warrior

I'm a weekend warrior myself and went with a GG 6" as my first polisher and love it. Good price, nice power, and a great warranty. I also went with the 5" backing plate as most have recommended here. If you've never used any polisher before like me, any polisher offered on AGO will bring a smile...

Unoffial Millionth Post Runners Up Giveaway!!

Thanks Romans5.8! I'm glad I decided to spend this past weekend doing a full detail on my car instead of the wife's CR-V. It's crying for attention after the snow-filled winter we had in Maryland this year.

    Question about a Detailing Website

You want to strike a good balance between length and branding. Too long of a URL increases the chance of users mistyping the URL or having trouble remembering it. Long URLs can also be troublesome when it comes time to try and fit them on business cards and other print materials. Too short of a...

If you could, please critique my list!

ONR will be good for either clay lube or a quick detailer depending on your dilution. Some even use a bit in their soap bucket to soften their water and reduce water spots. Then, when you get the itch to start doing rinseless washes, you'll already have it and will just need some more microfibers.

An older photo but it would get used on my 07 Charger R/T that is about to get its post winter full detail. Of course I'll write a review!
