Favorite wax for a new white car?

Of course with any protectant product used, and your car, whether brand new, or older, you need a clean Easel to get the very best results. As you might know, many of us use the "Plastic Baggie Test" when checking a condition of a paint, be it new or not. Read up on such if you never heard...

Favorite wax for a new white car?

Two of my highly liked picks, both which in my opinion are true hallmark products would be Collinite #845 Insulator Wax, and Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant 3.0. The Collinite will produce a look that is deep, a nice warmth, an impeccable glow. This will produce that all day spent BlueCoral...

    Need a little advise

As Mike has posted in some pics he's added, those little platforms to stand on are great to have. They often sell quite cheap on Black Friday Sales. Otherwise, and additionally,a good strong lightweight Ladder will come in handy for hood, roof. Yeah, it's a pain getting up and down and gets...

    Window tinting question

Not sure if this will help you, but I have seen Driving Glasses that are designed for night driving that supposedly cut glare. That might be an easier and less expensive option rather than windshield tinting. Although I know there are many Ceramic Type Tints today that barely have any tint to...

    Favorite water based tire gel?

I myself really like Optimum Opti-Bond. And I also like Optimum Tire Shine as well. Both great products to have on hand.

I think Im "done" with sealants... Any TRUE alternatives?

Coming back to the two I suggested, is ease of use. No more difficult than a good detailer spray. I could practically do an entire vehicle blindfolded, remove the blindfold after I was done and all would look good. Trick with either, don't over-apply.

I think Im "done" with sealants... Any TRUE alternatives?

It's likely they don't bond and last quite as well when used as a topper over something else.

I think Im "done" with sealants... Any TRUE alternatives?

It was DaveT435 who turned me onto UPGP once, sent me a super "care package" some years back and he included a sample bottle of Ultima paint guard plus. I bought some right after! Another great aspect, a bottle of either I previously mentioned last a long time.

I think Im "done" with sealants... Any TRUE alternatives?

The WOWAs usually are problem free in this regard. Either Ultima UPGP, or Otimum Opti-Seal. I'm sure there's others out there. I really like the two I mention for ease of use, no staining like you say, can be used on the entire vehicle, plastic and glass, love them for Door Jambs and every...

    Polisher question for newbie

Welcome to the forum. The Porter Cable PC7424XP might not be the latest and greatest, the prettiest, or most ergonomic, but it is a durable machine that will last, versatile, and capable for polishing corrections. Yes, you'd have to buy separate backing plates, the Lake Country Backing Plates...

    What is liquid glass ?

Many products way back were a little bit over-hyped. But not bad products per se. Liquid Lustre, PolyGlycoat, Turtle Wax, Rain Dance, Nu-Finish, etc., I could probably mention another 2 dozen products if I sat here and mulled long enough. What else back then was there? LOL Some lasted a...

    C8 Corvette

Hate to be critical, and yeah, it came with the dealer installed DISO Option, but to me as well (maybe it's the pictures?) but looks like Bowling Green also gave it the infamous chebby orange peel option as well. The relections in all shop pics look muddy to me.

Going with Griot's G9, but will need to doctor up the old PC 7424

Most everybody mentions the use of a smaller plate for use of 3" Pads with the PC Machines. I myself also very much like the use of 4" Pads on the PC7424. This combination is quite sweet IMO, sort of like the 3 Bears, in that on some vehicles like smaller cars, or those with lots of curves...

First wash of my new car (C8 Vette)!

And another thing that makes me cringe on so many sweet vehicles over the years that totally fubars, a state required Front License Plate. Just senseless IMO. In '86, I had bought a brand new Flame Red Metallic Pontiac T/A in Illinois. Told the salesman you put the front license plate bracket...

    Ceramic Coatings?

So may I ask, are you saying a re-application of CQuartz DLX will somehow rejuvenate and "cut through" a previously applied application gone bad, or will it be at such a point that such is too late? I have not tried re-application in hopes of eliminating these issues? I'm gathering you mean to...

    Ceramic Coatings?

Hate to slam a product, but my experiences with Carpro Cquartz DLX are a little mixed. Others have noted what I'll comment on. As for wheels, painted, or chome, I have had good luck. For painted or clear coated wheels DLX is tough to beat and never had issues. But on plastics, particularly...
