    What would you have charged?

You got burnt for $175. What is YOUR time worth? Are you doing this full time? Or are you doing this as a side gig outside of a full time job?

    What would you have charged?

I charge $275 base price for an internal XL vehicle. That would have likey taken me 8 hours or more. $500 is what I would have charged. As stated above, you need to have an extra dirty vehicle surcharge. What vehicle is it and how many hours did you have in to it? How much did you charge?

    Feeling overwhelmed

I currently own 6 vehicles now after my dad passed. I also run my own detailing business. That said, I use the same products on everything. Pinnacle products are fantastic as are Blackfire. So pick a product and stick with it.

    Chevy 2500HD Leather Seats

It's leather and it's the driver's seat. It's going to continue to do that because it's a part of the seat that gets the most wear and abuse. It's just part of the aging process. My wife's Buick is doing the same thing. You can help it by keeping it conditioned regularly, but it is still...

The old Blackfire All-In-One Trim and Tire Protectant.

100% agree. Paint companies and chemists are pulling their hair out right now for another comparison.

    Rupes LHR75E vs GG G8 3" Polisher

First and foremost what is your budget? Are you a weekend warrior/enthusiast? Do you do detailing for a business? For the money, I would take the Griot's polisher all day long over the Rupes or Flex. I am a tool snob admittedly and I personally own the FLEX XFE 7-12 3" Mini Polisher It's at...

    Spoiler lip coating

I use the same coating as the paint or a plastic coating. Regardless, if it drives through a "swirlomatic" wash it will scratch and micromar the coating. Touchless car wash only.

    Cutting Compounds

An "orange foam pad" means nothing. Orange foam can be dense/hard, soft for polishing, or non-abrasive for wax/sealant. It depends on the manufacturer. Are you sure you are not micro-marring it with said orange pad and M85. Again, the most aggressive approach is not the key to correction...

    Cutting Compounds

You need to do a test spot with a pad and product. Start with the least aggressive polish and pad you have. Don't dive head-first in to the most aggressive thing you have on hand. You can easily create more work for yourself.

    Cutting Compounds

How aggressive do you want to be? What is your budget? Do you expect to be taking out scratches? Have you done a test spot on your vehicle to see if the paint is hard or soft? There are a load of questions to be answered to select just a dedicated compound or polish and pad. NSP150 is very...

    Cutting Compounds

Like Mike Phillips always talks about, abrasive technology. I see you have 3D Speed which is a good product for an AIO. 3D One is a fabulous product which also has a long working time and no dusting. Dr. Beasley's NSP primers are also good for longer working times and no dusting. All that...

Musty smell after cleaning interior seats/carpets?

Ozone the interior would be my suggestion with or without an enzyme treatment. When wet extracting anything, I make at least 3 dry passes over the area to ensure as much of the fluid is removed. Then set fans on the areas to ensure they dry quickly and eliminate the potential for any mold...

    Scratches in plastic bumper

Without a dry mil gauge it's hard to definitively say how thick your clear coat is. In my experience painting and detailing cars, the thickest factory clear I have encountered is 2.5 which is the rough thickness of a post-it note or piece of paper. If you can catch your nail on it, odds are it...

Did I burn through the clearcoat?

Re: need help with this The blurring in question appears to be that you have made it through to the gray primer. Is there black color on your buffing pad? If so it's a dead giveaway that you went through the clear coat and the top coat to the primer.
