‘71 Suburban single stage paint help

Today’s offering to the detail gods. This thing has cool factor to the nines. Washed, decon’d, clayed, and buffed it out with Blackfire One Step. Lastly, I polished out the aluminum mags with Blackfire metal polish. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

what is everyone using for salt removal?

I use AMMO Boost winter wash. I still have a bottle that's near 2 years old. I add it to my regular wash soap to "boost" it as the name implies. $21 per bottle is high, but it works (I live in North Dakota). Furthermore, Larry is doing the products on his own and buying a bottle supports...

not sure I should attempt to do this

Without pictures - a good soap, iron remover, clay, clay lube, and a good AIO polish like Blackfire One Step, a dozen pads, and a good polisher. Like the Guz said, any improvement will be a wow factor and don't go crazy.

    PPF

I have Xpel on the front of my Camry that I had a another local detailer install (support the trade and small business). 10 year warranty, self-healing, won't yellow, etc. Xpel is one of the more common/popular brands across the country to my knowledge. I don't know that it's "necessary" to...

The difference between white and “white”

I love me some M105 and 205 as well.

The difference between white and “white”

I used a Buff & Shine Reflection Artist Yellow polishing pad. The white Lake Country Force Hybrid is about the same, so that's what I'd go with. If you don't get the defect removal, step up to the LC orange force hybrid. But 90% of what I do can be done with a regular polishing pad. The...

    Black Trim Upkeep?

Welcome. Wolfgang makes a good product, and I just applied Dr. Beasley's plastic trim coating to our 2019 Toyota Highlander. It offers UV protection, super hydrophobic, and is permanent with proper maintenance. Dr. Beasley's Plastic Trim Coating Kit

    Headlight restoration tools/kits?

If they are absolutely terrible, you will need to wet sand them first, and then polish them out. I use this kit Mirka kit available through Autogeek on my Flex Pixie with 3mm orbit. Sand 500-4000 and then buff out with your preferred polish like Blackfire Polish. Make sure you tape off the...

What did you do today non-detailing related?

Probably no idea who he is. She is in to Pentatonix, Beatles, Ava Max, Old 60's, 70's and 80's music, One Direction, Imagine Dragons etc. Fairly diverse but no jazz. She just plays what she's asked to. LOL

    Newbie confused here?!?!?!

Rest assured that when every pad manufacturer can agree on a color code system for every pad across every product line, the world will officially end. Like if cell phones ever all use the same charger. LOL. More seriously, I don't care for the CCS pad line. I prefer the HydroTech pads - Blue...

    Next choice: question about polishers.

First off, I worked at a large nation-wide distribution tool store and weekly, yellow and black tools owned the warranty pile I had to go through. As Mike stated, the corded "Supa Beast" would be the way. I own the original 3401 and the new cordless Beast. I can buff out an entire car on two...

The difference between white and “white”

Yesterdays first detail was a 15 year old pickup. Wash, decon, clay, and finish out with Blackfire One Step. See the line where I stopped buffing behind the cowl or the dofference between the finished box and unstarted cab? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

    UDOS 51E vs Bigfoot 21+mini

I had the opportunity to use the new Udos during Mike's detailing boot camp. I was excited, and love the idea of a transforming tool. 5 tools in one, for the price of a single high-end polisher can't be bad. Overall, the Udos is quite stout and well built. That transfers in to weight. It is...
