    TORQ10FX Random Orbital

I used my old Makita variable speed rotary for several hours today with foam pads. If anyone has experience with a good rotary then you know how much better it gets close to trim and panel edges than a DA. When I use my Flex 3401 I've found by using a smaller backing plate with a larger foam pad...

Rupes Pads By LC On My Rotary Buffer

I have a Flex 3401 and am very happy with it. I've tried almost every foam pad that AG sells and some work extremely well and some don't for me. After ordering 3 each of the pads made for the Rupes and using them on my Flex I wasn't pleased with the way they worked. That's my fault not the pads...

    What is this?

We used to see this on most all GM cars made in the sixties, crows feet or checking, after they got some age on them. I asked many experts at the time and most said that it was in the metal used on the cars and not the lacquer that GM used. I never thought that was accurate but I'm no expert...

    Delorean?????

Mike Brewer and Ed China restored one on the Velocity show Wheeler Dealers. If you can find that show you can learn a lot about how to revive the stainless on that car. I really enjoyed the show and learned a lot about stainless car bodies.

    Help removing decal adhesive

Lighter fluid (naphtha) works perfectly. It won't hurt the paint or any other surface on the car. I didn't post a reply on the question of shoe polish on carpet but lighter fluid will get that out also. Find someone with a Zippo and your all set.

Initial Impression: Menzerna SC300 vs. FG400

Thanks Mike, What a great demonstration. That took a lot of effort. I haven't ordered any Menzerna yet but I'm going to soon. I have to get the PE14 to replace my old, chunk of lead, rotary. Been wanting one for awhile. Don't you think I should get the PE14 before getting the new PE8. I...

Really Need Help With Choosing Pads!

Check out the new thin pads from Meguiars that Mike just posted pictures of. I am ordering some of these as soon as they are available. I don't think we will be disappointed. Hope they come out soon.

    NEW! Meguiar’s Foam Buffing Discs

Thanks Mike, Great write up and great pictures. I've been waiting for some thin pads like these to come out for a long time. I have been trying to decide what pads I'm ordering next and my mind is made up. These will be in my next order. Hope they are available soon.

Really Need Help With Choosing Pads!

I agree that this will help, but as Mike has said in his videos there are no standards on the colors and types of pads and it makes things really confusing. Seeing them on a video or in a picture is a lot different than holding them and trying them on a buffer. I have personally wasted...

    CarPro Immortal - Self-Healing Coating

Wasn't it the writer, Erskine Caldwell that coined the term " Old Hannah" for the sun? It would be my guess that " Old Hannah" and mother nature will take care of this coating, like they have everything else that has come down the pike. There might be more money made taking it off than...

    Washing microfiber towels - revisited

I agree. I simply put the washer on extra small load, hot water, double detergent, double rinse and they come out perfectly clean and fine. Dry them on medium heat and I can't tell them from new. One thing I learned not to do is put the white terry cotton towels, that I clean my pads on the...

Removing Swirls, Scratches, and Micro Marring

If you check out the pictures I posted on the Show N Shine thread of the '08 Town Car they are after Wolfgang Uber Compound and Finishing Glaze. The gloss and clarity after finishing glaze is the best I have seen. Probably a little better than Meguiars, and that is saying a lot because Meguiars...

    '08 Town Car, 100% AutoGeek.net Products

Thanks, jamesboyy & DaveT435, I got in most spots with the Flex, using the 4" backing plate leaves quite a bit of foam pad sticking out that lets me work it into some small places. In a few places I had to do it by hand, but not many. On the DP paint coating, I have never used anything...
