This was my reasoning OCDetails. I knew PC was the stalwart of automotive detailing, but when I read that the UDM had all the same benefits plus a stronger motor and a good price, I couldn't help but ask 'why not?'

Great pics...looks a lot like mine! :P I just got a UDM, XMT compounds, and XMT 180 wax (came free w/the UDM, why not) - my Spice Red has some minor swirls that I'll be fixing and then polishing her up. Can't wait for her to look as good as yours!

I'm in your situation and picked the UDM. I am a bit concerned over the new-ness of the product and the resulting longevity, but the better features won me over. Hopefully the company & AG (to whatever degree they are responsible) will stand behind it if there are quality issues.

I bought the Shmitt recently and like it a lot. The soft foam side is just that, very soft. The yellow side is rougher to help you get off tough grime, sap, bugs, etc. I have large hands and there is barely enough room for me to use it comfortably, or of course you can use it without your hand...
