Yea, I've heard about the soft paint.. And with all the bad highways and big rigs where I live, it makes me nervous. Hopefully it's not too too bad.. As far as the trim, it seems like a black piece with clear plastic covering it.. I may be wrong, but thats what it sure looks like..

They do have very minimal cut as christian pointed out, but you should be fine finishing with them. I have used both the black and the blue pads to finish and I don't notice much of a difference if any..

Last wax that I used was souveran paste. I do have a stronger polish to use, I was just unsure as to why they looked like they were gone with 85rd and then came back with the next wash. I may have to sit down one of these days and go over the car once with some SIP or something. :buffing:

Thanks for the advice, I tried a vinegar mix and it didn't seem to do anything for me.. I'm hoping I can figure this out soon.
