Veterans Day Car Giveaway for Active Duty Member!

Great turnaround Mike and crew! Looks awesome and what a great opportunity to give back to those who serve! IMO, I like to use the 5.5" LC Force pads on my XFE7 on curvy areas. The increased height and softer foam tends to stall less (for me) than thin pads. They tend to keep spinning, whereas...

    Spinning my wheels...naming

Welcome to AGO! I like where you're headed thus far- I kinda feel the name "Luxxotic" which kind emphasizes the fine automobile clientele you're after! Even for daily driven automobiles, with proper branding, you can make the customer feel like they're experiencing a luxury service- and at...

    Crazy Stuff You’ve Seen

I still shake my head when I drive by the local drive-through swirl inducer and see a black BMW with the owner drying it off with a series of microfiber towels. If they only knew what just happened! AGGH! Many years ago in production dealership detailing a coworker removed a competing...

    Went old school today...

Great turnaround! I love when I get to use my rotary! I've had similar experiences with mid 2000s GM clear, specifically a TRASHED 2009 Cadillac CTS. 3401 and Orange LC hybrid and M100 for the test spot....yeah wasn't happening. Out comes the PE14, M100 and LC Electrified wool finishing pad...

    Winter prep on my Silverado.

Looks great! Where in MI are you located? Colli 476/845 are still a great combo to survive through a salty mixed bag of MI weather!

    Worth Buying this Wool Pad

To the OP, A resounding YES to getting this pad for a 3401. It is by far my favorite cutting pad for the 3401- very smooth and has the ability to finish LSP ready on some paints (even with M100 and HD cut+ in my trials). Haven't tried it on a PE14 yet, but I imagine it is fantastic on there as...

Need help getting my trucks black paint into better shape

From the looks of it, there are some areas that look permanently damaged and may need to be resprayed. Depending where you're located, you may be able to reach out to another enthusiast/ professional on AGO in your area to give you a better idea of what can be accomplished! Good luck and let...

Add a Flex tool to my aresinal, what one?

Even though I don't have the mini (yet), thats what my vote would go toward as well. As others have said, it will get into the tight areas the 3401 would have a hard time with. Looking forward to some more feedback on this tool once more people get some time with it!

I REALLY like the look of these new Lake Country lambswool pads for a Flex 3401

Combo of a spur and compressed air for me. I found the first use is quite linty, but still a fraction of what a twisted wool pad produces. I did switch pads half way through that Camry. I wasn't lacking cut necessarily, but the HD cut+ had started gumming up the pad quite a bit. A trip to...

Does anyone still use a Dewalt rotary???

Man, for $40 I'd say you got a steal! I have a Flex PE14 and it is hands down the nicest rotary Ive used/owned. I sold my Dewalt 849X for a Makita 9237c, and then later sold the Makita and now have a Flex. IMO Dewalt<Makita<Flex The Dewalt will last a good while. In time, if you decide to...

I REALLY like the look of these new Lake Country lambswool pads for a Flex 3401

Sorry to bring up an old thread but has anyone purchased and had significant time using these? I thought I'd share my limited experience. I snagged a couple on the last 25% off sale and recently used them on two vehicles. Tool of choice was my 3401. Up until these pads, my 3401 only got used...

Just used my Flex 3401 and Rupes MKII 15 back to back...

I too prefer the feel of the long throws over the 3401! My 3401 is uber reliable and will always have a place on my shelf, but for me, the smoothness of the PE14 and XFE handle 90+% of the cars I work on in a timely manner.

Review: FLEX XFE 7-12 80 aka The FLEX 3" 12mm Long Stroke Orbital Mini Polisher

Wow Mike! As always, I appreciate the attention to detail in your write ups! Im curious to see how this machine compares to the Rupes 75e as it looks to be a direct competitor with a slightly lower price tag!

    Buff and Shine Uro-Fiber Pads

I too really like them. In all honesty, they're the only microfiber pad I've had extended experience with. I use them mostly with my XFE, but have also played around with them on the 3401. Being a Microfiber, the long throws definitely reap the benefit more than the forced rotation. I...

30$ pneumatic polisher the ultimate scartch killer?

After seeing this thread, I had to try it out for myself. I have a craftsman 6" air sander (almost identical to the one in the videos) already equipped with a "hook it" type backing plate. Stuck a 6" cheap pad on it and grabbed a scrap BMW 325i fender I had sitting around to immediately see if...

help with detailing interior carpets, upholstery etc...

For expedited pet hair clean up I suggest a "speedy stone." You simply "rake" the pet hair up into a clump, vacuum it up and remove the excess hair from the stone using warm water. I always hate pet hair jobs as hair seems to get everywhere! For "acid wash," I'd suggest getting a pH neutral...

    A Plethora of Choices

First off, The BOSS system has gotten great reviews when paired together. Like Rupes, Griots wanted to design a system of machines, pads and liquids that would tackle a huge variety of defects and be very, very user friendly. If you wanted to pursue a "system," and don't want to hunt down the...
