    Help Replacing Pads

Nice, I will check them out. I car that I used these on was trashed, so I had to put some decent pressure on the pad when I was compounding. Even though it was more pressure than normal, it was the same pressure that I would normally put on an orange foam pad. If that is the reason it tore...

    Help Replacing Pads

I had posted a thread a little while back on that issue. I just think foam isn't for me. I just threw that info into my complaining today for s&g.

    Help Replacing Pads

Apparently, I have had very bad luck with my pad choices so far. Pretty frustrated at this point, so looking for some information. I have used the LC 5.5 pads on my GG6 and never really cared for them because I couldn't use them for more than a minute before they were completely collapsing. The...

    Paint Coating Selection

Anybody know how many cars I would be able to do with each one, being the Blackfire kit (8 OZ), Gloss Coat Kit (20CC) and the GTECH Exo2 kit (50ML)? The three cars I would start with would be a Focus ST, Forester, and GTO.

    Classic Car Detail

Well, the car ended up very nice. Although it turned out to be a major pain in the A. I need to stop quoting people before I get the car in there and washed. I saw it beforehand but it was pretty dirty. I did a waterless wash on this thing and afterwards noticed the paint was really rough. There...

    Cleaning Rubber Mats

Alright, I'll pick up some of that. Dressings on mats just made me nervous, especially in a clients vehicle. I don't want to get sued.

    Cleaning Rubber Mats

So it is called "Tire and Rubber Mat Dressing" on the link (above) and the top of the page it goes to. But the title on the page is just called "Tire and Rubber Dressing". There isn't any mention of it being used for mats or safe on mats. Thoughts?

    Cleaning Rubber Mats

I was wondering if anyone out there has a secret to cleaning rubber floor mats. I will generally hit them with mild APC and a scrub brush, then power wash them. They look great until they dry and then they look very dull and streaky. I will usually end up doing that twice or sometimes I hit them...

    What's a good steamer?

I have the VX5000. While it's more expensive than the others, you get what you pay for. By far my best investment.

    Paint Coating Selection

It isnt for th3 most part but I also remember the price being up there if I remember correctly. I had read some bad feedback on it and just didn't add it to my list.

    Paint Coating Selection

I don't. I have always used traditional waxes and sealants layered. From what I read, people had some trouble with the application of it.

    Paint Coating Selection

So, are you recommending PBL as one that would fit my needs the best? 1. Brings out the dark, wet look that makes black paint worth the hassle 2. Has a very high gloss that doesn't look "plastic" like some of the synthetic sealants 3. Longevity. I am looking for something that I can do once or...

I'm open to suggestions. I have never heard of this one though.

    Kwazar Mercury Pro Spray Bottles

I am now down 3 bottles that just stopped working completely. Very disappointed in these bottle since I was under the impression they were the best. One I think I might have lost the bearing but sure about the other two. I am slowly switching over to pump sprayers and standard Meguiar's bottles...

    Chip Repair Question

That makes sense and has been my thought recently. I feel like most people feel like anything is better than it was, so they don't appreciate the old fashioned method the way I do. I may just make the switch and leave the old way to the higher end cars with less chips to repair.

    Chip Repair Question

I typically do chip repair for my customers the old fashioned way via cleaning, applying, wet sanding, and polishing. I have never used the Dr. Colorchip system but I have been thinking of testing it out here sometime soon. That leads to my question... I had someone ask me to repair 2-3 chips...

    Paint Coating Selection

I have done a good amount of reading on paint coatings in the last couple of months. I am ready to pull the trigger on one but I have it narrowed down to about 5. Leaning toward the Opti-gloss. They will primarily be used on my Focus ST (metallic black paint) and my wife's Forester (black...
