If 4 washes added scratches that require stepping up a level in terms of pad or polish (I'd still do the pad) then you've got other problems. You need to have a serious look at your wash routine and equipment. Otherwise you'll do this, get your coating applied, and be wondering why you need to...
If that didn't do the trick the car is more scratched than you let on or I thought it would be for being new. You could try a more aggressive foam pad. If you've got scratches that aren't coming out with that combo I'd suggest a uro fiber pad (they're superb). You can correct and finish down...
I use these, too (in black). While I don't agree on the sound quality being excellent, they're inexpensive and, importantly, the rubber insert really helps reduce outside noise from machines, etc. unlike Apple's design.
Use CarPro Essence and a soft foam polishing pad. The car is new so it *should* only have the most minor of imperfections, you don't want to go aggressive with the pad. Essence has very minor abrasives in it so there's no worry of getting in over your head, plus it will make a good primer for...
If you're like me a bottle of polish lasts a LONG time. I've got 5 y/o bottles of SI1500 and SF4500 that will probably last another 3 years before it's all gone and when I refer to them in threads I don't remember offhand what the cross references are. The rebranding was an unnecessary...
Great posts and good of you to remember to follow up after all this time. He'll have zero worries at lease turn-in. Interesting re: coating durability, I guess that's what I have to look forward to. It can make you waffle on whether coatings are worth it.
Not really, I just know that it may have less life than a foam pad as fibers are removed. Replacement cost is higher but this pad alone has the ability to reduce the number of steps a car may need so it can save time.
The quality of work is excellent but I think I'm just as, if not more, astonished that a vehicle, particularly one as special as that, could be delivered in that condition.
Thanks!
I'm thinking of trying CQ Lite on the X5. I've been holding off on recoating it because we're having an issue with the PPF on the front end and going back and forth with the installer.
Thank you!
I just used one for this job, cleaning it after every panel. Cleaning is tricky, at least for me using a Chemical Guys pad brush. While it's brilliant on foam pads it can remove fibers from the Uro-Fiber pad if you're not gentle.
