Collinate 845..I had to do it

I’m coating my car this week w uk3.0 but will be using 845 on my vinyl wrapped gloss black roof. I need something on the roof that will be gone by the spring as my roof is supposed to be self healing and it’s got some scratches on it. I want to see if it really self heals once the sun hits it...

    Post Your Unpacking Pictures

I've been waiting to restock on an iron remover product, so picked some up during the latest 25% off sale. I also have to redo my car's coating and been wanting to try Gliss so I got some CQuart UK3.0 and Gliss 2.0. Lastly, ran through some 3" pads recently on my rims so restocked on those.

What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

just washed my foam and microfiber pads. Used Black Fire pad cleaner, forgot what the exact name is. They've been sitting here for a while all dirty. Hope I didn't wait to long :(

    Are you kidding me, dealer?!?

Sorry to hear that OP. Maybe the do not wash hanger idea is not so bad. My dealer is pretty good about not washing my cars as they know how nuts I am. They take a big marker and write it on the windshield. I recently took one of them to an independent for a cam magnet job which they...

Did my First polishing with porter cable xp 7424 HELP

OP, I know your frustration with MB paint being hard. I have had some good results with Wolfgang Total Swirl Remover using my PC7424 and lake country microfiber pads. I would recommend trying that if you have access to those products. I previously tried Sonax Perfect Finish and it worked...

    Picked up a new car!

Congrats to you and your son on the car. My first car was a 1990 toyota corolla, bottom of the line, I think dE trim or something like that. Manual windows, cloth seats, terrible radio..... but I loved it cause it was mine and I used to turtle wax it every chance I got. :). I picked up my...

Griots Garage product stained my rims - here is my attempt at a fix

RRThomas, I agree on the coating not lasting long. I honestly wouldn't have expected it to cause any damage. Dr. Oldz, I agree that I do go through rims quite often but that usually happens more frequently in the winter when it gets dark earlier and I hit pot holes I can't see due to damaged...

What did you do today non-detailing related?

I painted a dresser. It was originally brown. Now it’s off white. My wife says it makes her feel more peaceful so if that helps to buy me more detailing time I’m all for it. :).

Griots Garage product stained my rims - here is my attempt at a fix

Not sure I’m following you here. Are you suggesting that they were previously repaired/repainted and that the damage that appears is from that and not the Griots? If so, I guarantee you that is not the case. W all the pot holes in the winter up here in the north I am always cracking or...

Griots Garage product stained my rims - here is my attempt at a fix

Hi Tony. I believe the black is from the tire itself as the pad would touch the edge of the tire since the area to work in is so small. That is the reason why only the edge of the pads are black and not the center portions.

Griots Garage product stained my rims - here is my attempt at a fix

Hello everyone. I was at my local Pep Boys a few months back and saw that Griot's Garage made a tire coating in aerosol form. It peaked my interest so I went ahead and purchased it. Long story short, there was some over spray that landed on two of my rims. Unfortunately I did not see it...

Genesis G70 Looking Sharper than any German Car

The paint looks great. Excellent work on the detail. Regarding the car itself I think the Genesis is nice but at the same time doesn’t have it’s own identity. Looks like it has the front of a Chrysler, tail of a Kia and side profile of a bmw/Lexus mix. I don’t really see what areas it is...

    Wish me luck...

Hey man, sorry to hear about your accident but glad to hear you will be ok. I don't post a lot here but I always read and come across your cadillac posts quite often. You'll replace the car and be back to detailing in no time, but the most important thing is that you are alive. God bless you...

Bead Maker making a believer out of me

To each his own right? It took me all of 10-15 minutes per application, and also, the first one was right after a wash, and the second was at night so it wasn't great light and I left it alone. The third I did because why not. Going forward I will probably not have to wash it as often, and...

Is there a Bubba Proof Compound and Polish?

You'll get a lot of different opinions on the forums and that's because there are a lot of good products out there. It helps a lot but can also lead to confusion some times. I've tried many products and some have not lived up to the hype. For me, one that does and I have switched to...

Bead Maker making a believer out of me

LoL, you guys are funny. Maybe it's just the best product he has ever used, not the best product ever made. Anyway, its raining out right now and the beading is nice. Not the tightest I have seen, but nice, and I know that after the car dries i won't have water spots. And after I wash...

    what's your weather currently like?

It's raining right now in Northern NJ and I love it. I don't have to water the grass, and it's beading up my car the way I like it ;) They have weather alerts and flood warnings out but right now its just regular old rain. Hopefully it stays that way. About 6 weeks back we had tornado...
