    Sun-friendly Products

I've heard Poorboys is famously developed to work in the sun. No experience personally yet, but I have some stuff on order because, like you, I cannot avoid work in the sun.

Here is a link to a Google photo album. I tried to get it from a couple of angles. Thanks! GTI Defect - Google Photos

Help me identify defect and best solution to resolve

It honestly wouldn't surprise me, around this neighborhood. I'll see if I can get a few more pictures.

Help me identify defect and best solution to resolve

The darker middle section is raised. The lighter "halo" area around it I believe it not, but I will confirm. Yeah, this is unlike anything I have seen before. I am almost afraid to attempt correcting it.

Bump. Did I really stump everyone, or did I ask a stupid question? :)

    Oh please forgive me!

Perfectly acceptable for a company car. :)

Help me identify defect and best solution to resolve

Happy Father's Day to all the dads out there! Yesterday, while putting the finishing touches on a rinseless wash, I spotted the following defect on my driver's side front door. I don't know what this is or how it got there, but I've removed so many bird bombs from my car in the past three weeks...

IK FOAM 9 Sprayer - "Intermittent" Spraying

Hey all, I have one of the IK FOAM 9 sprayers that I have used precisely twice. The first time around, I used Chemical Guys Honeydew Snow Foam diluted to the recommended ratio. Now, here is the problem: I had plenty left over, so I didn't empty the sprayer or wash the nozzle. The next time I...

    Decontamination necessary before applying wax?

Ah, let me rephrase. I bought the car a few weeks back and haven't done any sort of decon at all. :) Like you, I am of the mindset to leave decon for when I am planning to do some form of correction. Right now, I don't think I need that. I just want to keep the car protected from pollen and...

    Decontamination necessary before applying wax?

I guess I hadn't considered that. I suppose if I really want to decontaminate the actual paint, I can wait until the Fast Finish wears down.

    Decontamination necessary before applying wax?

Over the weekend I did a thorough two-bucket wash on my GTI, followed by Meg's Ultimate Fast Finish. Today I did quick waterless wash with Wolfgang Uber since there was only a light dusting on the car. I thought later tonight when I get back from class and it's cooled down a bit I might do a...

Quickest way to get 'er done?

Okay, need some advice. Here is the scenario: You just washed and waxed your baby on Saturday. Since then, there has been rainfall, pollen, and lawn trimmings attacking her. She's looked better. But she's also looked worse. You haven't driven her since Saturday, so there is no caked on mud or...

CarPro Hydro2 Lite - is this normal?

I got a new bottle of Hydro2 Lite on Friday and there appear to be solids floating around inside the bottle. I tried shaking the bottle to see if they would break up but that didn’t do anything. Is this normal or should I contact customer care? Sent from my iPhone using Autogeekonline mobile app

Work Hydroshot - Poor water pressure

Wow, interesting. I never thought of using a paint sprayer. I'll have to look into this. Power is no problem; I have an outlet in my driveway, just no hose hookup. This may be perfect. If it saves me a $10 trip to the local coin-op every Saturday, it'll pay for itself in no time. Thanks!

Work Hydroshot - Poor water pressure

Re: Worx Hydroshot - Poor water pressure Thanks. I am probably overthinking this. The Wolfgang Rinseless seems the way to go for someone in my situation. I could visit the local coin-op to do a quick pre-rinse with their pressure washer to get all the pollen or hardened bugs and bird dookie...

Work Hydroshot - Poor water pressure

Re: Worx Hydroshot - Poor water pressure Thanks for the replies. The Hydroshot was a very disappointing purchase. I didn't need it to be as powerful as a pressure washer, but it would have been nice for it to at least be as good as a hose. I think in some ways it was more wasteful than a...

Work Hydroshot - Poor water pressure

Worx Hydroshot - Poor water pressure Hey all. Just did my first detail with the Worx Hydroshot and I was underwhelmed by the water pressure. I used the more powerful 4 amp battery combined with the turbo nozzle, and even on the high setting the Hydroshot barely managed enough water pressure to...

Anyone feel like teaching old dog new tricks?

Hey all. Hope you are all enjoying your Memorial Day weekend. For those that served, I thank you for you service. One facet of detailing that I have never quite gotten a handle on is paint correction. I never invested in a DA polisher or accompanying products because I have an irrational fear...
