Advice On Full Plastic Bumper Paint/Restore

Hey all, I was getting tired of the faded bumpers of my 2000 CR-V taking away from my nice polished paint, so I have decided to take them all off and repaint them. A few years ago, I did cover them in PlastiDip, but that has since faded due being parked outside. So far I have removed all the...

Help me identify all of my paint issues! (Test your detailing prowess pros!)

Thanks for all the replies! You all must think my car is a complete piece of junk . It actually looks pretty good IMHO. There is no structural rust, as it is a relatively southern vehicle. I also do all the mechanical work myself, and it is very well taken care of in that regard. It...

Help me identify all of my paint issues! (Test your detailing prowess pros!)

I was also surprised that the plastidip did not last more than a year. The plastidip I had put on the window trim 2 years ago still looks new. It was really the front bumper being the worst, as the rear still looks pretty good. Will have to try the Stoners Tarminator, and look into the Ultima...

Need some help on getting an air compressor set up

Yes that 21 gallon compressor is from HF. The only issue I have with my 8 gallon is that it cannot run my larger impact gun for sustained period of time. It's fine zipping tires and most bolts off with no issue, but starts to struggle with longer use on a stubborn bolt. It's nothing wrong with...

Need some help on getting an air compressor set up

Yes I forgot about that one. With coupon it's a steal. Probably going to be my next upgrade as my 8gal can't keep up with my larger mechanics tools sometimes.

Need some help on getting an air compressor set up

Try your local Harbor Freight. I have had good experiences with their compressors. You can get an 8 gallon one for around $120, which is more than enough for a little polisher. Also great for painting (with inline filters) and using mechanic's tools. Is it the best of the best, no, of course...

Help me identify all of my paint issues! (Test your detailing prowess pros!)

Hello all! This is my first post, but it is sure going to be an ambitious one! I bought this car used almost two years ago as my daily driver, and had quickly become my baby. Paint was in pretty good condition for a 2000 model year vehicle. Been washing it every week when I can, and waxing...

Thanks for all the kind words fellow detail aficionados. I am now with people that understand my detailing habit. My friends and neighbors think i'm crazy spending hours washing my car every week. :dblthumb2: Little do they know how much I judge them washing their car with one bucket and a wash...

Long time lurker, finally decided to join the fun!

Hey all! I have been a visitor to this forum for a while now, and have always loved the great information on here. I learned how to properly wash, clay, polish, and wax my vehicle just from lurking around here (not to mention any Google search leads here). As a broke college student, I...
