    Question about counterweights?

I plan on buying a 3.5" and a 6" LC BP for my friend's new Griot polisher. I assume I need to get a counterweight for the 6", but I don't see any counterweights available for the 3.5". What's the story there?

lambs wool pads and bonnets--what are they good for?

What do you mean by a leveler? Does the lambs wool pad go directly underneath the bonnet, or between a foam pad and the BP?

    Optimum

Optimum Wax has both carnauba and sealant polymers. What is the advantage of using Poli-Seal IN ADDITION to Polish II and Optimum Wax? BTW, sorry for the noobie question but what does LSP stand for?

    Optimum

So if you use Polish II you don't really need the final Finish Polish. How does use of the Poli-Seal relate to the Polish II and the Optimum Car Wax? I've already got the Polish II and the Car Wax, so is it redundant to use Poli-Seal? I would think so. It seems that the Optimum Car Wax is a good...

Great, thanks for your help loudog. I like to save a few bucks where I can.

lambs wool pads and bonnets--what are they good for?

Can't I use a soft foam pad to do the same?

lambs wool pads and bonnets--what are they good for?

I'm about to place an order with AG and I'm wondering what people use these products for. I've seen them mentioned in perusing the forum but I can't recall what they're good for.

    best pad cleaner(s)?

I just answered my own question, or rather Mike did: http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/how-articles/20135-how-clean-your-foam-pad-fly.html :dblthumb2:

    best pad cleaner(s)?

I'm wondering what people recommend for DA pad cleaning. Any favorites out there? Also, is it a good idea to use different products with the same pad after cleaning? Or should pads be dedicated to a certain product or type of product?

    Optimum

Bump for this. Any users of the Finish Polish out there? I'm a big fan of Optimum and would like to know how this compliments the Optimum Polish II. I have an older, black car ('90 BMW) with a softer clear coat.

Why no Coarse Green 5.5" :C pad?

I searched LC CCS pads. They have a 6.5" coarse green, but no 5.5": "Coarse Green Cutting/Polishing Foam 6.5"- This foam is of medium density with the ability to level very fine scratches and very light oxidation. Use light swirl removers with this pad." The one you listed looks...

Why no Coarse Green 5.5" :C pad?

(Sorry for the typo in the title: this is referring to Lake Country (LC) pads.) It comes in the 6.5" size, so I'm just wondering...what's the deal?

    Experience with Wax Blaster?

I've got a fair amount of wax on my side moldings. I used a coat of Forever Black, which didn't take very well. I'd like to try to remove the wax more effectively before trying the Forever Black again. Any stories for me? What about Meguiars Heavy Duty Vinyl Cleaner (#39)?

    removing aluminum trim oxidation

For those following this thread I have it on very good authority (a BMWCCA member who has been detailing 2002s, E28s, E30s, and E34s for 30 years) that neither polish nor the Bavarian Auto/Classic TrimCoat approach of sanding/recoating the clear coat has ever worked with any degree of...

Griots Garage ROP vs PC 7424XP

Re: Griots Random vs 7424xp I don't feel right about that...borrowing his machine occasionally is one thing, but I don't want to use up his pads as well. They're not that expensive and I rather have my own set anyway. All he had was a grody old Griot orange pad...no others...in fact I should...

Griots Garage ROP vs PC 7424XP

Re: Griots Random vs 7424xp OK, so the obvious question is, which type pad did you like the best? I was planning to start with the CCS--any reason not to? Where can I read up on the relative dis/advantages of each? EDIT: The Griot is even more appealing for me since I can use my neighbor's.

    removing aluminum trim oxidation

Thanks Mike. I've resolved to try using a DA on the trim even though I understand its success is doubtful. Replacing the trim is prohibitively expensive. I'm trying this based on the experience of a correspondent who told me he had good success on his clear coated aluminum trim using the PC...

Griots Garage ROP vs PC 7424XP

Re: Griots Random vs 7424xp I'm new to this game and considering the PC 7424xp vs. the Griot. I could be incorrect about this, but is it true that the Griot offers only two kinds of 6" pads (orange and red) with a selection of different grade polishing products? If so, is that a disadvantage...
