New addict from indianapolis seeking help!

Joe, welcome and thanks for your service. $700 sounds about right, $200-400 for a DA polisher and about $300 in products to get started as an enthusiast. AG has some good deals so keep an eye open for these. Once again welcome, Mike

beginner, what else do i need? and order of detailing

I would recommend switching from Simple Green as an APC, since it is not recommended for painted surfaces. Instead you can pick up Simple Green Pro HD (purple color) at Home Depot. It is safe for paint and makes a great carpet cleaner at medium strength (about 1:5 dilution).

    Spilled Milk

1oldsalt is correct. There is no need to remove the carpeting and padding and instead use an enzyme (and bacteria for amped up cleaning) based cleaning solution found at pet stores to digest the milk proteins. A few treatments of this will remove the smell.

    what polish

I know M205 can remove 2000 grit sanding marks with the right pad, but I do not know about GG3. Probably in the same range since there are GG1-4 and 4 is a final polish. CG P40-Polish+ will remove 2300-3500 grit marks depending on the pad used. Long story short you could probably use GG3 with a...

How Long Does it Take You to Complete a Waterless Wash?

To Wors, I have not tried other rinseless washes so I cannot say, but search for CG EcoWash over on autopia and there are two reviews that compare EcoWash to UWW+ and ONR.

    Am I ready?!?!

Not more than 2 years ago I was in your shoes in terms of doing my first 2 stage correction and I was hesitant until I started. Be sure to watch Mike's videos on polishing with the 7427XP and don't forget to mask. Put on some good tunes and you'll be fine. As recommended I would try the SF4000...

    Intro and HEEEELLLPPPPP!!!

I concur with the recommendation on an orange pad; the yellow is too aggressive and I would combine that with Megs Ultimate Compound. The more I use Megs UC, the more I am impressed with the results it produces. Follow this up with a final polish and a white (if the UC leaves light swirls) or a...

How Long Does it Take You to Complete a Waterless Wash?

I use the CG Hose Free EcoWash (HFEW), which is a rinseless product, and want to try their EcoSMART as it may have more wax/sealant. With HFEW it takes 30 min. with wheels for a sedan and 45 min for a Honda Pilot. My wash method is to pre-soak with a 1:7 concentration of HFEW and then use the...

About to make my first AG Purchase! Wanna see what you think???

I just found GammaSeal lids at Home Depot in their paint section so in a pinch this is a good source. Since you do not have access to a hose, I highly recommend getting a rinseless wash and following the Gary Dean Wash Method (you can Google it). Essentially it is a one bucket wash method using...

New Wash Method for CG EcoWash

So after seeing Gary Dean's method of using a single bucket wash method with a rinseless wash and individual towels, I decided to try this with Chemical Guys Hose Free EcoWash (CG HFEW). I mixed 1oz. EcoWash into 2 gal. water, but that produced too many bubbles on the paint so I diluted it with...

    Hi from Nashville

Hi all, I have enjoyed taking care of cars since I was high school and in the last 2 years have invested in professional grade tools and products to aid in my hobby. For the past 2 years I have enjoyed reading and learning from the membership and officially joined last month. All the best and...

    what polish

I have used a PC7424XP with Chemical Guys P40-Polish+ and a white foam pad on less fine scratches, but you should use a blue or black foam pad as they are less aggressive. Additionally, you could probably use CG V38 as AG sells this. Mike
