Got hit at a parking lot today..

I guess I'm not following the logic of paying for it out of pocket - isn't that why you have insurance? once you make sure it doesn't impact your rate calculation (very seriously doubt it will, and they have to tell you if it will or not), even if it doesn't meet your deductible, turn it in...

    DP foamaster foam gun?

How well does the quart or 1/2 gallon foamaster gun work? Seriously considering one of these under the current daily deal. I have a really cheap generic one that doesn't work well at all - I just use it because it has nice spray patterns, but the foaming part is pretty much worthless. Like...

Got hit at a parking lot today..

This. Happened to me twice this year, both times in parking lots. Once with my car, once with my wife's. Here's what you need to find out/do: - call your insurance agent and find out if they cover damage like this under hit & run, vandalism, or comp or whatever. Note that different states...

Scuffed/scraped leather seat repair - Grey Dakota in 2007 BMW 335i

It's not really to clean, it's to remove any residue from cleaning or conditioning. Pretty much like an IPA wipedown after polishing. I don't think I'd make a practice of it, though. The instructions tell you to clean the seats first, and then: Preparation: EXTREMELY IMPORTANT!Open one of...

    Whats the best way?

If you like ONR you will probably also like Ultima Waterless Wash+ Concentrate. I use ONR for rinseless washing and UWW+ for QD and clay lube. Lots of good advice in the previous posts as well. My personal note, I use a California Duster pretty regularly and have had no problems with it...

Scuffed/scraped leather seat repair - Grey Dakota in 2007 BMW 335i

So I looked at the photos again and it bugged me - surely my seats aren't *that* dirty. Must have been the flash/light when I took the photos. In daylight the seats don't look like that at all (dirt-wise), although a couple places could use a good cleaning with a brush.

Scuffed/scraped leather seat repair - Grey Dakota in 2007 BMW 335i

Yeah, nice catch. :) I did clean them with DP interior cleaner, but didn't have a brush. In the light I had, they looked ok, then the photos showed the grime still stuck in the grain. The areas to be treated were clean though, went over them multiple times with the DP, and then with IPA...

Scuffed/scraped leather seat repair - Grey Dakota in 2007 BMW 335i

Here's the link to their main page. Auto colors are off on the left-hand menu under "Repair Kits and Color Charts". Organized by Make. Update: after curing 24 hours, the couple places that looked like they didn't quite blend (can be seen towards the bottom in the photos) are pretty much...

Scuffed/scraped leather seat repair - Grey Dakota in 2007 BMW 335i

One of the only cosmetic flaws on my car, other than some mild swirls and RIDS, when I bought it as a CPO in June were some scuffs/worn color spots on the driver's side seat bolster. I finally got around to fixing it. I used a bottle of Color Flex from Magic Mender. They have a great selection...

Want a little swirl with the new car Missy....

One of the folks on one of the BMW forums uses that windshield chalk/paint and writes "wash" with a big circle and line through it (in red) on the windshield. Not a bad idea. I, too, tell them not to mess with the tire pressure either. I've adjusted it just right, in the morning when the...

    Input regarding wax selection...

I've used the SSII over WDGPS and liked it. It didn't last terribly long (about a month and a half) before it turned a but dull, but then I just cleaned it off and redid it. Have also used Souveran and P100S, the Souveran was perhaps the best, but very hard to see much of a difference between...

Want a little swirl with the new car Missy....

That's quite a compensation package! Nicely done. As someone who spent a lot of time in the service industry, I learned that no matter what, sooner or later you end up with an unhappy customer for some reason. The best places are those that go above and beyond to try and make it right. I...

Newbie here..need thoughts on my starter products list please?

ONR or Ultima Waterless Wash+ Concentrate. I prefer the UWW+, but the ONR is a little less expensive if you use it primarily for waterless or rinseless wash. Another great one-product-does-lots is Klasse All-in-One. Cleans, good sealant, easy on/off, go over your windows after you do all the...

    Christmas came early from CarPro!

I want to try the Fixer polish....can someone tell me where it falls in line with other polishes/compounds, in terms of aggressiveness? Or will it really do everything within a range of old school products like 205/105 or Pinnacle Advanced Swirl Remover... just want to know where to start with...

"New" tool in the battle against brake dust

I use ironx, sonax, and royal brown....but any of them require I get the hose out and something gets wet. The swiffer is perfect (at least, so far for me it has been) for in-between maintenance - when I've driven enough to accumulate dust on the wheels, but the rest of the car is in good shape...

    Wet Sanding...Have you tried it?

I've done it, mostly to smooth out touch-up spots and also to clean up some scuffs on hard plastic fog light covers. Always go slowly so you don't go through the clear.

"New" tool in the battle against brake dust

I'm using up about a half bottle of Klasse SG that's been sitting around...it's working great: POST 1 POST 2 (with video) Between the Klasse and the swiffer, I'm loving clean-almost-all-the-time wheels. It takes maybe 5 minutes to swiffer all 4 wheels clean.

"New" tool in the battle against brake dust

I tried the baby wipes...they make a mess if there is much dust, since it gets damp from the stuff on the wipes, you end up smearing it around. Also not sure what that stuff on the wipe does to any LSP you have on the wheels. The swiffer is working great along with my post-wash treatment of...

    Lessons Learned

Wedge-shaped makeup sponges for the application of various dressings (usually for rubber seals, etc). Cheap, easily found, make applying to smaller locations much easier..
