Klasse AIO first time user questions - new forum member

My answer depends on what you're planning to do with the scratches. If you have a lot of places that you have to cover, I'd probably hold off on the effort of doing the AIO over everything, since any polishing/compounding will remove it. if you just have a few spots, then I'd go ahead and do...

Klasse AIO first time user questions - new forum member

Looks like a tinted glaze or tinted wax was used, and that's what the AIO is cleaning off. Dealers will frequently use those to hide paint imperfections. The glazes will hold up to a few washings, but the AIO will strip them right off and that's what you're seeing on the pad. Just rinse the...

    Which wax for topping BFWD?

One thing favoring this approach is I have 6 bottles of BF Midnight Sun Instant Detailer....which means I would be using one product "line" from base -> LSP -> QD. only other thing regularly used on the paint is ONR or UWW+. But is Fuzion even better? Anyone who's tried both? Or would the...

    Which wax for topping BFWD?

Hi folks. Almost out of my current LSP/topper wax, Pinnacle SSII. Right now the car has BFWD sealant as a base, and I top with the wax when it either wears/bakes off or when I just want to spend some time detailing. Suggestions for another wax? I'm not unhappy with the SSII, but like to...

Wow... I didn't think it would turn out like this.

Beat me to it, but I was going to say Brillo pads.

    Shout-out to Penny

This comes through consistently to me as well, even though I haven't had the pleasure of meeting anyone in person. I once had a person ask where I got something, and when I told him he said "Oh, I don't go there, I prefer XYZ site" (and it wasn't an AG "sister" site). When I asked him why he...

    Used Spray Bottles

That's a much more detailed descriptionon a good wash process than mine, and really similar to what I do....:props:

    Meet The Autogeek Staff

Great page - very nice to put faces with some of the names I've come across, and to see everyone, along with the source of all my detailing supplies :) About the peanuts questions that periodically come up...I was advised a while ago about putting the comment for no peanuts or paper packing in...

    Used Spray Bottles

I repurpose spray bottles that have a good spraying action/pattern. Use them for diluted product, plain distilled water, etc. I just rinse them thoroughly, then wash them with dishwashing soap, rinse thoroughly again, and let them dry. Be sure to spray soapy water from the bottle through the...

    Dr colorchip reviews

I recommend it, but it's not a cure-all, fix-all. It's great for small spots, and especially road rash (you can wipe it on a fairly large aera, wipe it off, then do the buffing with their solution). The one thing it doesn't do (at least, I haven't figured out how to make it do it) is fill the...

Who is having a bad day? This guy!

Nope. This just happened the other day, news story said he swam out the drivers side window. I'm surprised there isn't more damage to the front end of the vehicle, coming through a cinder-block wall and all... Wonder if he was carrying the Res-Q-Me Keychain Escape Tool or the Life Hammer...

    dust

Wrap it up, and when the paper soaks up the wax (you'll see it), change to fresh paper. As everyone has said, the key to the CA Duster is to NOT APPLY PRESSURE. On horizontal surfaces, I dodn't even let the entire weight of the duster rest on the surface. On the sides, I do the "twist" kind...

    dust

yep, this handles my two dark (one black, one dark blue) cars. UWW+ as QD with some good MF towels. have been using a CA Duster for years with no problems. If you have a new one, definitely let it sit on a couple layers of newspaper to get as much wax as possible out of the strands. IIRC...

Who is having a bad day? This guy!

This guy, too: Yes, that's part of the wall stuck in his windshield. And his swimming noodle by the driver's side.

Simple wheel cleaning turned into multi-day project

Yep, that's true too. I think I'd have been ok if I had turned them over and sprayed everything off in between dwellings/treatments. Think what I might do next time is spray the Sonax on with them upside down, and then turn them over so it runs to the back of the wheel as it drips.

Simple wheel cleaning turned into multi-day project

Indeed. They aren't perfect, but in fact look better since I went ahead and fixed a minor curb rash on one, and the other had some spots where the clear was fading (probably also from a previous fix) as well. I also took comfort in knowing that, worst case, I could take all four of them...

Simple wheel cleaning turned into multi-day project

So this is one of those "lessons learned" posts. At least it came out ok in the end. Background: My car has OEM lightweight alloy wheels, which are silver with clearcoat over them. I just recently purchased the equipment I need to safely lift my car for minor/routine maintenance (oil...

    klasse WOWO method

Back when I was using KAIO/KSG, I would apply the KSG with a very soft, all cotton old t-shirt material. Made it really easy to apply very thin. If you're doing it right, it will almost appear that the KSG is evaporating into the paint (much the way some QDs flash off when you wipe them). I'd...
