is klasse AIO required before sealant glaze?

Just one of those "lessons learned" things from my experience with Klasse: it lends itself very well to a little bit over a longer period. By that I mean that when I decided to try klasse, I used the AIO one day after a good wash/clay session. Then I stopped, since I knew the AIO would...

is klasse AIO required before sealant glaze?

I never waited after the KAIO to go to the KSG. I would, and still do, wait 24 hours between applications of sealants or waxes that can be "layered" (do not remove product/LSP under them during application) so they have a decent chance to cure. Does it make a difference? Honestly, don't...

Can you use a AIO, then top with a nuba?

This is one reason my bottle of KAIO is not buried on the back of the shelf gathering dust. I've moved on to other LSPs, but still use the KAIO to spot clean (and do windows) :)

is klasse AIO required before sealant glaze?

There is a difference between KAIO and a cleaner wax. Cleaner waxes typically have a slight abrasive/polish capability in them - thus the "polish and clean". The cleaning capability in KAIO is entirely chemical - it has no abrasives whatsoever. I believe the reason Mike makes the statement...

Mark Your Backing Plate - Makes it easy to see Pad Rotation

Such a simple tip that I picked up previously from you, Mike....excellent reminder post. Having that line makes a huge difference in knowing if you're applying the right amount of pressure. I've foudn I also now know how fast I want the line moving around based on what product/pad I'm using....

is klasse AIO required before sealant glaze?

Exactly. I used the klasse twins for years until some of the newer water-based polymer sealants came on the scene. KAIO x2 and KSGx3 was a mantra many of us klasse fanatics followed. I also use KAIO as a spot cleaner, since it's nice to know it leaves behind a sealant until I can retreat the...

    Whats happening with AG Shipping?

The biodegradable ones that dissolve in water are cool.

    Can you wax too much?

Yes. The KAIO will remove the old LSP and give you an acrylic LSP base. My experience is that some products "layer" over the Klasse acrylic (both KAIO and KSG) better than others. Even better if you clay, then KAIO, then wax :)

Can you use a AIO, then top with a nuba?

Klasse AIO (x2) followed by Klasse SG (x3) was, back in the day, one of the top choices for "layering". Bottom line, yes, both methods work. Your first will probably have better looks and protection if the AIO is a sealant type, not a cleaner wax.

    Whats happening with AG Shipping?

Valuable info in this thread - I wouldn't have thought that putting in a comment (such as "No Peanuts") could slightly delay picking - but it makes sense. Now I know if I'm really in a hurry to figure I'll use the peanuts for something else! :D Someone recently told me they don't use AG much...

Which way to move to a more aggressive approach

Lots of views and no replies :( Come on, some of you have had to move to a more aggressive process at some point - how did you do it? Different product, or pad, or both?

Rank 'Em: Car Make/Color for Ease of Maintenance

I'm in agreement on the care side of silver metalic... But isn't it one of the harder colors to match when doing small touch-up work (i.e. rock chips)? Seems like the silver metalic touch up spots just never quite reflect the light the same...

Which way to move to a more aggressive approach

Hi Folks, I have a new (to me) situation. I always follow the basic "use the least aggressive method that gets the results you want" approach. It's always worked well. So over the years, it seems I've accumulated quite a bit more products (both polishes/compounds, and pads) so the...

Well this takes the fun out of everything, doesn't it?

All I know is that they look amazing in person - photos don't capture the look well at all. I seem to remember one company did/does make a wax specifically for the BMW frozen paints, though....

    In-car detailing survival kit contents

So I looks like I should explain the thinking behind the AIO.... I'm talking a little tiny 3 ounce bottle. I don't use AIO anymore for LSP, right now the car has WG DGPS on it. But I do find myself periodically reaching for just 2 or 3 drops of AIO to clean off something that has stuck (or...

    In-car detailing survival kit contents

Hi folks, I'm going to be going on a road trip in a few weeks, am starting to figure out what to pack in the car (limited space, must be conservative) to take with me to keep things shiny and me sane over 12 days. Soliciting input on what you'd take or include. So far, haven't done much...

    Oils from LSP

Not whatever it is that's remaining for me. It's obviously oil-based and doesn't get caught up with a MF, even damp. I'm lucky if QD-strength ONR or UWW+ gets it off. I think Kneedragr has it, the wax just isn't bonding well to the sealant. Might be that I'm very consistent with the sealant...
