    Oils from LSP

yeah, pretty sure this isn't the problem. I learned the "very thin" lesson pretty well when I was using Klasse SG regularly. Exactly. It's like you can push/move them around, but they're almost impossible to remove. So far, I've found that UWW+ at QD strength will do it. First I thought...

    Oils from LSP

Does anyone else have problems with (what I assume are) the oils in most LSPs, especially waxes, causing holograms on really well-prepped and already-sealed paint? Might be more likely to happen on darker colors. I have WDGPS on one dark blue car, and BFWD on another black one. They look...

    Polish Longevity?

If they haven't separated, they should be fine. I have some Klasse AIO that's over 5 years old that works fine....

    To wax or not...?

You'll be surprised at how good it will look if you do a couple treatments of AIO and then maybe follow with a layer or 2 of KSG or a 'nuba wax. It doesn't remove the swirls, but it certainly lessons their appearance.

What to do after it rains?

Soooo.... if you pull back into the garage after driving in the rain, and the car is still wet...is there anything wrong with using ONR or UWW+ and spraying each panel to do a waterless wash?

Advice for Reducing Scratch Appearance (Temporary Solution)

As folks have said, I would first see if they are through the clear into the base, and if they are, then touch up with the correct (dealer-supplied) paint, (do NOT sand first), let it dry thoroughly ( a couple days) and then wet sand/compound/polish.

    windows

When I used to use klasse All-in-One, I would always finish by misting the applicator sponge with a bit of water and using it on the windows. Worked so well, I still get out a spnge applicator and use a tiny bit of diluted AIO to do the windows. sparkling clean, and the water just flies off...

    So How Do YOU ONR?

On my previous car I did AIO x2, and then it had about 6-8 coats of KSG. I found that after that, even just a QD spray would leave oils on the car that were a pain to get off - it's like the paint was sealed so well, the oils in the products that are meant to make the paint look deep just...

Is "detailing" my daily driver Tahoe just too much for me

Agree with all those who said to break the work up into pieces - no need to do it all at once. While the AIO products work well, I wouldn't do it that way if you know that you'll later want to go back and get the swirls and RIDS the AIO can't get. You don't even really need to clay the whole...

For anyone that's good at troubleshooting stereo systems...

Doesn't matter where it's gone bad - make a new, good ground to the receiver/amp and that should take care of it. Changing pitch with engine speed indicates alternator whine. You can also put a capacitor (forget what size) in the power line to keep the voltage to the amp constant. I t...

Let's talk Quick Detailers and Streaking...

When I spoke with the folks at AG about my streaking problems with FK425, they indicated that it was known to sometimes not play well well with some finishes, thus the suggestion to dilute it 1:1. I suspect the manufacturer makes it for the 95% plus of the situations, and I happened to get...

Washed my car this am and found this.....

If you are referring to the grey irregular shaped spot under the crease on the body line, it looks like the paint flaked off - I'd definitely take that in to be looked at/explained. Might have been a spot where the paint didn't bond to the bumper surface for some reason.

    Vinyl Seat Maintenance

I like Vinylex as well, it's also water-based (IIRC) but has a little more glossy/shiny finish.

    Vinyl Seat Maintenance

303 will be non-slippery and have a slightly satin finish on most vinyl. If, after you apply it, wipe and let it dry, it's still too glossy for you, just buff it with a clean MF towel.

    CarPro Fixer

I did the rest of the RX350 today, CarPro Fixer on an orange pad, PC7424, speed 5-6. Switched to the orange pad since the white pad the other day was taking 2-3 passes to get everything out. With the orange, only had to spot-correct RIDs in a few places. Tried to take a few photos of a...

Let's talk Quick Detailers and Streaking...

Happens with me with FK425 as well - it's like it flash-dries and leaves darker spots. The folks at AG suggested diluting it 1:1, which has helped some. In my case it definitely wasn't too much product - does it even if you spritz the towel and wipe..it's like it dries as soon as it hits the...

    CarPro Fixer

I used Fixer today for the first time, on my wife's heavily swirled (was that way when we got it) black Lexus RX350. Fixer on a white pad with the DA made quick work of the heavy swirls, got almost all of the RIDS, and left me with a ready-for-LSP finish. Only had time to do one side, will...

PBMG 2011 in Review - Win a Migliore Wax!

The hourly sales during Black Friday weekend were a blast - not just because of great deals at great prices, but because of how much fun the AG team (especially Meghan) made it while online on the board during the sale....
