Review: CarPro Essence + DP SIO2 Paste Wax

Finally took my car out of storage and had a chance to use both these products. I've had my bottle of Essence for a while now but this was my first time using it. Paint was already in excellent condition so I applied it more like a wax (i.e. faster arm speed, only 2-3 passes, light pressure)...

Review: DP “Not Your Father’s” SiO2 Paste Wax

Thanks for the update! I'm finally going to get a chance to do a whole car (or two!) with this stuff this week. Likely on top of Essence, which I'm also using for the first time. Both vehicles are dark so my main concern is whether or not these products will give me clean and easy wipe-offs...

Meguiar's Ultimate Quik Wax has a clay lube?

UQW is a pure wax (i.e. not designed to have any lubricative properties, like a detail spray would for instance) so I wouldn't recommend it.

    Spring Car Care and Products

I'd say you could maybe skip step E depending on how well Speed finishes out. Also, depending on the condition of your paint I'd first try speed with a white pad and see how that looks. In my opinion using Klasse afterwards would be kind of redundant (i.e. wouldn't add much, not really worth...

    DP Gloss Tire Gel

For anyone curious I tried it on some trim. Nice darkening effect and it dries to the touch. We'll see how it holds up.

Wolfgang Uber Ceramic Spray Coating - First Impressions Video

Great, now I have to decide between this and the new SIO2 paint sealant!!

    DP Gloss Tire Gel

It's dry to the touch, just like VRP. I'm curious to see if it also works well on plastic trim. Would be nice if I could use it for that too.

    DP Gloss Tire Gel

Just tried this out for the first time tonight. Product is a thick highlighter yellow gel and smells great (lemon limey, exactly like UWW+). Very easy to use, spreads nicely with a sponge, and leaves the tires exactly how I like them; dark with a nice sheen but not too shiny. Also no greasy...

    Review: Wolfgang Si02 Paint Sealant

This stuff looks great! WGDGPS is my all time favourite sealant. Hard to imagine something even better. Will have to try some when my DGPS runs out. Curious how it will fit into the lineup? It's the same price as DGPS, is it meant to be a replacement or will it continue to be sold alongside it?

Review: DP “Not Your Father’s” SiO2 Paste Wax

Thanks for posting your thoughts. I've been waiting to share mine until I do a proper test (so far I've just put it on my daily which is white and not in the best shape so it's hard to really take much away from that). I'd echo all your thoughts. I split my hood up into 3 sections to do a quick...

Project 98 - DP in the PGH

    Interested to hear your thoughts!

    COMING SOON! Project 98!

Well definitely the tire gel, because I need some anyways. The SIO2 paste wax also has my interest. I'm looking for something that would play well on top of Essence, since I'll be using it to polish my "garage queen" but don't plan to go the coating route since I think it would be overkill for...

    COMING SOON! Project 98!

There are a few products in the lineup that I'm on the fence about. Will wait to see how the reviews look before I buy anything!

Recommend me a new product line to use

Nothing but good things to say about cut and finish! Easy wipe off, long work time, little to no dusting, and it finishes really well. I've used it as a one step on black honda paint with no hazing, even using an orange lake country pad. It's diminishing abrasive if I'm not mistaken so make sure...

Coated under 15 minutes using PBL Surface Coating

I'd say the speed and manner in which I do it is more or less like the way you would use a spray wax i.e. few sprays, quickly spread, move on. For tight areas or areas where you don't want over spray, you can try spraying the product directly on your microfibre then applying. I've had no...

Coated under 15 minutes using PBL Surface Coating

I've done 3 cars with this now. I tried foam applicators, I tried even tried suede and it was still kinda finicky. What I ended up doing was just spraying a few small spritzes per panel then very quickly spreading with a microfibre. Flip the towel if necessary to level any excess but you should...

    Meguiar's D155 Last Touch vs Meguiar's D156 X-Press Spray Wax

I have a jug of D156 but lately find myself using Ultima WW for pretty much everything (waterless washes, touch ups, as a drying aid and clay lube, even like a spray wax since it has some protection). It has excellent lubrication, is super slick, leaves a really nice gloss, and protects for at...

    3” polisher purchase

Thanks for the info. Sorry to hear you got a bad one. I already have a 3 inch but I'm in the market for something smaller. Debating between getting an iBrid/PXE/Micro or just getting some sort of attachment for my PC that would allow 1 or 2" pads (if I can find something like that). Hope your...

    Favorite Wheel To Work On

Would have to be the wheels that came on my boxster. The face is incredibly easy to clean and the barrels are super easy to reach with the wheel on the car! Can't say I've worked on a more straightforward wheel.
