Silica Spray Showdown: McKee's v. Gyeon v. CarPro

Question, with these kinds of products is it necessary to first strip off any wax or sealant that is currently on the car? I could definitely see myself using one of these as a maintenance product between sealant applications (meg's ULW or Wolfgang for instance) but if it can only be used as a...

help me fix my black 2004 porsche paint (With Pictures)

I'm not sure what 3M product you were using (your pictures aren't working for me anymore for some reason) but check this link out to see how all the polishes and compounds compare. UPDATED 9/2015: Autopia Polish Comparison Chart

help me fix my black 2004 porsche paint (With Pictures)

Nice car! I also have an 04 Boxster S. I don't have black, but I have a dark metallic color which is probably pretty similar in terms of hardness. Mine was not in as bad of shape to begin with, but what worked for me was: -claying -meguiar's ultimate compound with meguiar's soft buff burgundy...

    Strongest Correcting AIO

I've had great results with Menzerna 3 in 1. Only complaint is that its a little smeary on removal so I always go over the car with some spray detailer afterwards. The cut is really good depending on pad choice and it finishes really nicely as well. On a scale of 1-10 it is about a 6, same as...

    Meguiar's ultimate liquid wax

Normally I would agree with you but I already have 2 25 packs of microfibres sitting in my basement in addition to what is already in the garage lol

    Meguiar's ultimate liquid wax

Here in Canada it goes for $37. I just thought if it's a product I'm going to be using fairly often it would be more economical if I could find it on its own. That duragloss product looks like a decent alternative if it does indeed fill like the ULW.

    Meguiar's ultimate liquid wax

Thanks for the replies guys. Interestingly, I can't find it as a standalone at any canadian retailer. That amazon price is actually not a bad deal; even when you factor in shipping and exchange its still cheaper than on amazon.ca. I'm still open to suggestions for other products if anyone has any.

    Meguiar's ultimate liquid wax

Anyone know where you can buy this stuff without the included microfibre and foam applicator? Perhaps it is sold under a different name within the commercial lineup? I love the product but hate feeling that part of what I'm paying is for another towel and applicator that I don't need. If not...

    Paint Hardness Chart?

Found this on another forum. B column is hard, C column is medium, D column is soft. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1dsfNDrr6ei-h02vacKkvcV_Ij0_CzZyKWfHLlAIf0BU/edit#gid=0

    Glaze and sealant query...

Question: I have some black hole and some meg's ultimate liquid wax. I'm kinda lazy. Any reason I couldn't mix a bit of the black hole in with the ULW? My thinking is that is would result in a mixture that very lightly cleans, fills like crazy (ULW already fills), could be put on in direct...

Best product for filling swirls and minor scratches?

Try meguiar's ultimate liquid wax. It fills pretty nicely and looks really good too. I have poorboy's black hole and natty blue as well as wolfgang dgps but always end up coming back to the meguiar's just because its a pretty damn good wax for the money. Application is super easy and it can even...

    Menzerna 3 in 1

Bummer! Can anyone give me some recommendations for AIOs that won't stain? Edit: Anything other good products beside HD speed? Would love to try it but I'm having a hard time finding it locally.

    Menzerna 3 in 1

Looking to get an AIO so I can do quick details for family and friends. I am considering this product as I can get a deal locally. Does anybody know if it will stain trim? I ask because if I have to tape off the car to use it then it wouldn't actually be much of timesaver.

They washed my freakin car !!!!!

What a bunch of shmucks. I do services washes at a Porsche dealer and that would never happen with us. We're all extremely careful around the cars and believe it or not our wash methods do not add any swirls!!

Recommend me a good carnauba wax

So here are the final results with the natty's blue on top. Maybe it's just me but the natty's ever so slightly made the paint look richer/deeper and seems to make the flake stand out a bit more. It's hard to say though because the car looked great before so it's not like there was a ton of room...

Thanks for the resources and recommendations guys. I can see how buying waxes can become a bit of a problem for some of us!

Recommend me a good carnauba wax

So I went with another layer of wolfgang. Damn. Looks even wetter than before. Really happy with the depth and clarity of the reflections. It was kinda hazy outside so the pictures don't really do it justice. Even put it on the wheels too! Figured it couldn't hurt. I ended up ordering the natty...

Recommend me a good carnauba wax

Question: If I were to add another coat of the wolfgang would I have to wait 12 hours for it to cure before I add a layer of wax on top??

Recommend me a good carnauba wax

Wow, certainly a difference, at least in that instance. To be completely honest I was so gassed after compounding that I got lazy and went straight to the sealant. For the compound I went slowly and very thoroughly worked small sections at a time, overlapping many, many times both horizontally...

Recommend me a good carnauba wax

I did not polish it afterwards. I actually bought the whole kit that came with ultimate polish and polishing pad as well but it looked pretty damn good after the compounding (no swirls, restored clarity etc) so I skipped straight to the sealant. I assumed it would be a ton of extra work for...
