Swirls re-appearing one or two days after polishing?

The IPA panel wipe should have a final dilution rate of only 10 to 15 percent (12 oz water + 4 oz 70% IPA). Too high of a percentage can harm the clear coat. It's also important to use distilled water and not just regular tap water in the mixture. What kind of microfiber towels are you using? I...

Tough removal of Sonax EX 04-06 - fun turned frustrating

In general, I have found hard to remove polish is due to using either using too much product and/or not breaking the product down enough. Generally, it will turn clear when it's been broken down enough which is usually at least two really slow passes or 3 or 4 slow to medium arm speed passes...

    Hammered ‘15 Silverado

Incredible transformation! 3D Speed has fillers so it would be great to see how a section looks after a panel wipe. If it still looks great than that's a miracle paint correction.

Griots Fast Correcting Cream + Sonax Perfect Finish?

It must be a pretty good combination since Esoteric is also recommending the same combo. It can be done either way as a one step or a two-step. The Sonax Perfect Finish is pad dependent so paired with the yellow fine foam pad it's going to act more as a light to medium polish but finish down...

Griots Fast Correcting Cream + Sonax Perfect Finish?

What's interesting as far as the timing of this thread is that I just watched a YouTube video by Obsessed Garage titled "What I actually use when polishing". The owner recommends FCC or Jescar correcting compound followed by Sonax Perfect Finish. For most cars he uses the Rupes yellow microfiber...

wash, clay and seal detailers??? NO WONDER PEOPLE FLIPP WHEN YOU TELL THE $350 $450

I don't 100% buy it's what the customer wants argument. The detailer should be the expert in the situation and draw the line on what they will or won't do by what's in the best interest of the customer. If someone went to an oil change place and said they just wanted the oil changed and not the...

Wax or sealant you can apply to the entire car before removing???

How do you apply the Ultra Lock+? I have tried applying it by hand with a yellow foam applicator, but it's been difficult getting even coverage. In some spots it seems to not stick to the paint so I have to go over it several times. This after clay, polish and optimum panel wipe.

Best cleaner wax OR AIO for hand application

Meguiars 3 n 1 wax is primarily made for hand application which it even comes with a foam applicator for this purpose. It does a good job of getting out swirls and water spots. You could even use Turtle Wax seal n shine as a topper to increase the durability of the protection. Another good one...

Looking for a compound that offers slightly more cut than 3D One

What compound would you recommend that offers slightly more cut than 3D One? I want something that I can go to if 3D One and a microfiber cutting pad on a 8mm DA polisher isn't getting the job done. Basically, something for hard clear coat. I'm currently looking at Jescar correcting compound and...

Anyone hear a big proponent of waffle foam pads on a da polisher?

I've been watching some videos from the folks at DIY Detail and they are big proponents of using waffle foam pads on a da polisher. They say the waffle pads run cooler, glide over the surface better and are easier to use for beginners. Anyone here feel the same about waffle pads?

Interesting how everyone has different detailing ideas that they swear by

Interesting how everyone has different detailing ideas that they swear by. Some of the ones that I have observed - Flat pads are better than dimple pads. Waffle pads run cooler than flat pads which makes them better. Slow arm motion is better when running a da polisher. Fast arm motion is...
