    Forehead slap on wiper cowl...

Funny that Megs PP365 was mentioned.....I'm not a fan for intended use on paint. I have found it finicky and just kinda a PITA to use. BUT.....It works AWESOME on trim. I did a test area on my F150 bed rail caps when it was first released just to see how it would work on trim...still has a good...

    Smelly interior

+1 for ozone. I get a lot of calls from Uber and Lyft drivers for bio cleanups in back seats, with some interesting smells. I use some enzymatic cleaners and a good dose of Odoban followed with 30-45 minutes of ozone, directed at the affected area....happy customers every time with no call backs...

Which brands are you most loyal to?

I'd have to say Griot's, good stuff and local to me (25min from the flagship store in Tacoma WA) and Megs. Economical and works great. Mike

What should I charge to detail a 45ft motor coach?

I'm at $20 / ft. for inside and out on RV's here in western Wa. As far as products I use Megs RV / Marine line on the outside for wax and oxidation removal. Inside I use regular household cleaners with the exception of leather, that I use Griots 3-1, works great! Good luck! Mike

    Mckees paint coating vs Cquartz

Happy to see this thread started! I just coated two cars with CQUK (UK works AWESOME up here in the Seattle / Oly area), and my bottle of McKees coating will be here today for a job this weekend. I won't be able to speak of longevity obviously but ease of application and initial looks i will get...

    product for one step

Exactly....with a MF pad on a G21, I was so impressed with it. Did a great job on a '15 WRX I did. Granted Sub paint is on the softer side though... Mike

    Starting my business!

Looks like a good start for sure. I use my electric PW 99% of the time. It's a 1700 psi and does a fine job. As far as leather conditioner I use mostly Griots 3-1 Cleaner / Conditioner. Fairly inexpensive (12.99 22oz) and does a great job. For the best bang for the buck take a good look at Megs...

Favorite 1-step compound and pad for 2017?

Right now I still find myself going with HD Speed with a Griots BOSS Correcting Pad (Orange) on a G21. Works awesome 95+% of the time. If I'm doing a 2-Step I'll go with Griots Complete Compound instead and an LSP. Mike

Where do people come from to attend our detailing classes?

Hopefully one day you can add Olympia Washington to the list. I consider myself an excellent detailer, but I can only imagine what more I could learn! Just need the funds....it's a long trip. Mike

    Favorite carpet cleaner/extractor

I used a Bissell Spot Clean Professional for a couple years. New they run $120-$150ish. Good little unit, still keep it as a backup. Then I picked up a Durrmaid Super 1600 off an auction site for $250....works awesome, but I'm looking to move up to a larger Mytee unit soon, just for the added...

Diatomaceous earth in a '15 Passat TDI...

I was wondering that too. Hard to see in the pics, but the dust made it's way inside the instrument cluster too. I'm not sure if its corrosive, i don't think it is, but it gets gummy and thick when wet. Next winter will be interesting for that car!

Diatomaceous earth in a '15 Passat TDI...

2015 VW Passat TDI, leased car being returned. Owner was concerned about fleas in the car from his dog, so they coated the interior with Diatomaceous earth, used for multiple things one being a natural pesticide. Props to them for staying chemical free on the inside of a car, but......pics speak...

    Griots black satin tire coating.

I actually used it for the first time yesterday. Went on nice and even with a good finish. It's on a customer's car, so I don't know about longevity yet, I'll have to try it out on my test mule... Mike

    Burger grease on fabric upholstery

+1 for Folex then maybe a spot cleaner such as Spot Shot or ZEP Spotter. I've had very good luck with these... Mike

Help - Leather Seat Indents From Car Seat

From my past experience in my F150 Lariat seats, I kept the leather conditioned very regularly and the indents from my kiddos seats slowly worked their way out over a few weeks. Mike

Goof Off vs 3M Adhesive Remover vs Brake Cleaner for removing sticky stuff

Good info!! I use primarily Goof Off and / or denatured alcohol (non-painted surfaces). The Goof Off works great on removing drops of tree sap from paint! Mike

    Spray wax technique?

Best bet is to start with the manufacturer's recommendations. Personally, with Megs D156 and Griots Spray wax, I will mist one large or two smaller panels ( cool temps ) and spread with an MF towel. I'll then come back with a CLEAN MF towel and buff until streak-free and beautiful. You may just...
