    What Pump to Feed Pressure-Washer?

I would go with on demand, save the wear on the pump. Unless you put in a recirculate line you will just put unneeded wear and tear on the pump or even burn it up if it's not designed run without flow. Mike

    What Pump to Feed Pressure-Washer?

I use this one, have for 4 years. Been a great little pump, feeds my 1800 / 1.8gpm electric and my 4000 / 4.0 gpm gas. Rated at 3.3 gpm but works on my 4.0 gpm just great! ....SHURflo Industrial Diaphragm Water Pump — 198 GPH, 1/2in. Port, Model# 2088-594-154 | Utility Pumps| Northern Tool +...

Planning to start my own business

Absolutely...then read it again, then one or two more times! Then pick up: Show Car Shine Detailing Book Combo As far as websites, I use WIX, easy to use, fairly inexpensive and looks great. Took me a couple weeks to build it, my first site and I'm very happy with it. www.FirehouseDetail.com...

    Commercial Vacuum

First off, I know AG does not sell these or any other detail supply vendor for that matter, but I picked up this little guy at a local pawn shop for $60 last week. It is an English-made Numatic NVQ380. Retails for $350-400 USD. They are a janitorial type floor vacuum, dry only. For $60 I was...

My experience with customer service at Durrmaid...

I had an issue with my 1600 a few weeks after getting it (used). Dennis was out when I called but he called right back a little while later, talked me thru troubleshooting my no power issue. Turned out to be junk on the waste tank float magnet causing it to not make a magnetic connection so the...

    smoke odor

Thoroughly clean, I mean everywhere. The source needs to be removed then Ozone it. If you dont have one try borrowing or renting one locally. I just picked on up a few weeks ago and my daughters car was the test. Ive detailed it a couple times and the musty mold and smoke odors just kinda linger...

Which extractor is good for mobile detailing ?

I'm running a DurrMaid Super 1700 I got off e-Bay. Seems to be good, 30 minute heat up time is a little frusterating and the wheels on the bottom are crap. I'm VERY interested in the new Mytee 300H as well....I'm up for hearing if anyone has been using this one too! Mike

    what's your weather currently like?

Last week....rain, snow, more rain then rain / snow / hail / sleet. Washington decided to have all 4 seasons in one day. And did it! This week, just rain with 10 minutes of clearing between rain. :( I have $2k + of jobs pending for a decent week of weather. Come on spring!!!! Mike

    Griot's Leather 3 n 1 Splotchiness

To me, it looks like areas where the leather is absorbing it in better than others. My F150 leahter will do this....give it an hour or so and reapply, evens out and looks great everytime. I'll do the leather in customers cars early on to watch for this and see if it needs to sit for a bit. Mike

How many passes with an extractor?

+1 for the clear nozzle. I'll keep going over it until I see no more dirt / soiling coming up from the carpet. a few more passes over the area vac only to help pull moisture out, then ill use a clean terry towel to blot up the area with my knee to really get into the foam. that area will end up...

Need a favor from a GG6 owner that has a decibel meter app

A sudden increase in noise may be an indication of a bearing going out. I would give Griots a call and talk to their tech support guys. I'm sure you can get a new one from them. My GG6 is actually quieter than my G21. https://www.griotsgarage.com/category/customer+service/ask+a+question.do Mike

    Teriyaki Sauce and Leather Seats

An enzyme based spotter cleaning agent would do very nicely with the organic compounds in the sauce (soy sauce). I use Mt. Hood Chemicals Vampire spotter for biohazard cleanup and organic spills. I have had it for several years....not finding the website, they may be out of business now, but i...

    Griots G15 vs G21

I run a 21 most of the time. I'll move to my GG6 with a 5" or new 3" plate for the tighter areas. With the BOSS, pads and creams I have just as much correcting power as the 21 out in the open areas. And it is nice being 15 minutes from the Griots store:xyxthumbs: Mike

    Fix garage door rash

I second the IPA to help with paint removal. Start with a polish on a cutting pad see how it does. You may need to move up to a compound or even a mild wet-sanding starting at 3k or 2500, then polish out with a compound > polish> sealant / wax of your choice. But most i have seen like that come...

What is everyone's opinion on the Griots Garge products?

I actually just spent a whole bunch of $$$ there this morning at their flagship store in Tacoma. I'm working on migrating over to all Griots products. They all just seem to work great. Pick up all the new for '17 items today and will be testing them out over the next few weeks and will do some...
