Ah! I missed that post. I've tried to wipe down with an ipa solution and Gyeon Prep (which I don't like at all).

That's a-lotta paint to cover indeed! I wonder if the same micro marring results would appear on a metallic. I'd imagine the clear coat is the same being a Dodge, but perhaps the metallic paint would make a difference.

I'm currently prepping my Dodge Challenger for an application of Gyeon Mohs. I also want to add the "Bumble Bee" vinyl stripe in the rear, and possibly wrap the hood in flat black vinyl (down the line). Which is the better option: 1. Apply vinyl stripe first and then Mohs. 2. Apply Mohs first...

Good to get confirmation on Dodge soft black paint. I've seen it described as hard, medium and soft in various places online. Is the M205 the same product as Ultimate Polish? I've got Sonax PF and the SF 3500 arriving today so I hope to get this sorted out and on to the coating by the weekend.

Hope the Rupes yellow and Sonax PF is the trick!

Looks sweet. Love this car in black! Worth the extra effort. I was having the same problem. Looked perfect until I held the light at that one particular angle that showed the micro marring. I should get my new products today hopefully.

How did the Mohs turn out? I'm getting ready to apply once I'm done piloshing. I also have the Gyeon Prep, which seems weak as others have mentioned. How about just using an ipa solution?

Sure have, among numerous other videos he's done. Although I'm not using the same products and pads he's using. I'm fairly confident with my set-up and technique, it's the combination of products, pads, hard/soft paint, etc that gets a little overwhelming. Like he says in the video - polishing...

Yes, that's the ultimate question apparently. Hopefully once this is sorted out it will help others with this particular 2016 Dodge/Chrysler black paint.

I'm sure it's non metallic paint. It's Dodge/Chrysler PX8 - solid black. Yes, the photos are from my test spot. Trying to figure out which polish and pad to finish off with.

I just ordered the 3500. If that or the Sonax Perfect finish with a Rupes yellow pad doesn't work I'll try the blue Buff and Shine with PF2500.

Here's the best pic I could get after UC. I can say for sure that it does remove the spider webbing and scratches from the original finish. Using with a Meguiar's Microfiber cutting pad.

I'm not having any luck with the Ultimate Polish and the tangerine pad. I've tried priming and not priming, less and more product, varying speeds, pressure and passes. Are you getting these results on soft black paint with that combo? I just put an order in for Sonax Perfect Finish and a Rupes...

Great info. After doing some more research I found another pro recommendation to use Rupes yellow pads with Sonax Perfect Finish. Holding on my order until tomorrow to see if there are other suggestions. Some other recommendations for Menzerna 3500 too. I would try all three (including Rupes...

Definitely not an expert here either. I have seen some videos where a harder pad and finish polish is recommended for soft paint. Counter intuitive, but apparently it works. Going to give it a try.

Thanks, I'm going to wash the towels I'm using, which are Gold Plush from AG. Other than some lint, I don't think the towels are causing the marring, however. I've been doing several overlapping criss-cross passes with varying pressure and speeds. I'll try doing just one pass and so on as...

No, the before photo is before compounding. I can post an after UC if that would help. The finish is typical DA swirls.
