Another Premium Interior Detail (Kia Sorento this time)

As bad as those seats were, I wouldn't feel bad at all about the results you got. That said, that type of fabric seems to really love oily stains. I've found that most stains come out but you're left with dark spots a lot of times on this fabric. There's two things I've found to improve on...

    Introducing!! Pinnacle black label!!!

Ok ok, maybe I'm the one with my panties in a wad. You win Bob. I just think we should all calm down a bit and wait for some good reviews before we cast judgement on how expensive it is or isn't and how well it does or doesn't not perform. I think I'll try some of the products out and see...

    Introducing!! Pinnacle black label!!!

I don't understand why so many guys are getting their panties all in a wad over this. It's quite comical. This is a premium product at a premium price. It's marketing genius imo.

How To Dry Car With Master Blaster?

You could possibly have very hard water with a lot of minerals in it.

    Introducing!! Pinnacle black label!!!

I just noticed the polish can be applied by hand, so I guess it wouldn't really be very difficult to apply a little to a mf towel and do a wipe.

    Introducing!! Pinnacle black label!!!

I can understand if the paint is in good condition, using the prep polish before applying the coating, but... What if I'm performing a major paint correction and have the paint finished down exactly how I want it? Can I not do an IPA wipe and then apply the coating? Theoretically, wouldn't the...

What are the characteristics of soft and hard paint?

This is very generally and not always the case, but soft paint tend to correct very easy but not finish so easy (Prone to micro marring). Really hard paint tends to not correct very easy. If you do any sanding, the sanding marks can be difficult to remove. Once all defects are removed the...

My business goals for next year

Sweet, being the only one that does the high end work is a great idea. That way your name is associated with that work. It's a great way to sell your high end work as well, being able to tell the client that only your hands touch his car.

    Introducing: Pinnacle Black Label!

Now this is something I can market! I can see something on my website, promoting the exclusive use of "pinnacle Black Label," on my high end custom details. I'm going to put some serious thought into this line of products. Looks very interesting.

My business goals for next year

Just so you know, I totally respect production guys that do it right. Production work can be very profitable, and in many cases, it is exactly what the client wants and needs. There are two types of production guys: Hack/production: Guys that have never even heard of a DA and who mostly do...

The bottom of the car (line where the door ends)

I alway leave the rocker panels rear and front bumpers for last, after I have polished the rest of the car. You have to clean these areas very well. These are areas that are missed by production shops and is imo a big thing that separates production guys and high end guys. If I'm being paid...

    Jeep Grand Cherokee

Wow, the paint looks like it is glowing. My wife drives a 97 Jeep grand cherokee. I love these vehicles. They are big and fairly difficult to work on. Excellent work. Couple questions. . . I'm thinking about a metro blaster. Does it live up to the hype? I'm guessing for the heavier defects...

My business goals for next year

I'd like to ad something. You're employees won't work quicker unless they have an incentive. Perhaps start paying them per car. There is a legal way to do this, because my brother runs a commercial cleaning business and pays his employees per unit. This will discourage them from sitting...

My business goals for next year

Those turnaround times seem very normal to me. I spent 7 hours on a van yesterday. I can not get it down under that. It was an interior detail and aio on the exterior. That's my most basic detail, but it is still much more thorough than the big production shops. Cars take me 4-5 hours. I can't...

3" option for Porter Cable 7424

What the!? That's crazy! I've found that backing plates with holes work the best. Helps dissipate heat. Still, I can't believe that combo produced that kind of mayhem. By relatively short period of time, do you mean 5 minutes in one spot? Hahaha I've heated up some pads, but you've taken it...

Do you ever clay while washing?

Well...if what you mean is wash, rinse, and then use a sudsy wash mitt as clay lube, then yes. I then do a very quick wash to remove any residue, rinse and dry. Done. Ready for polishing. If you mean wash, and without rinsing, start claying, then no. That would be insane.
