My hope was that you'd pump the brakes and think about what you were saying. I see that wasn't in the cards. To everyone, I leave this bit of sage advice from the '80s. LEO or not, the next several months are going to be tough on America.

In my opinion, your comments don't reflect that you "really do appreciate what they do" when it comes to law enforcement officers. If you're referring to the shooting of Laquan McDonald, Officer Jason Van Dyke is being prosecuted for 1st degree murder. Although it falls short of your "swift and...

Multi Ratio Foam Cleaning Gun (low pressure) Instructions & Parts Diagram For parts: 800-852-2723 (Autogeek doesn't sell replacement parts) - Model number can be found on the top of the mixing head. For example, my gun is Model #75QGF, the same as Mike's. #10 - Screw (Locking) and #11 -...

Advise on machine for 3" pads

Non-orbital rotation should add some gyroscopic stabilization that a jiggly DA can never have.

    Interior dusting

Try something like this: Laitner Grip-It Vent & Dash Duster. I've used something similar (rhymes with Biffer). Lots of static attraction, with the ability to draw light dust out of confined spaces, too. Keep one in the car for a little dusting whenever the Prozac wears off.

NEW! 3.5 inch ThinPro Foam Pads! Thin is in and you're going to love these new small foam pads!

I imagine these will stir up some interest in smaller polishers. When I wear out my new 3" muffins, ThinPros will go in the cart.

What is your favorite headlight restoration kit?

I used a 3M kit on a Honda Fit with excellent results.

The old California Duster! Questions from client

Show him how all of the kool kids wrap high test MF towels around their dusters, and use them to wipe down a car using "duster spray". All those microfibers are just mini-dusters, after all. Make sure he knows this is a secret technique known only to a few outside of Bowling Green, and is...

Advise on machine for 3" pads

You're right. I'll bet a 3" rotary can make a real mess of things in the wrong hands. A rotary does have the advantage of allowing the use of extensions; an orbital can't. I bought a Flex 3401 and moved my PC-7424 to 3" duty. Works well.

    3M Tape DAMAGED window molding!

I've never seen material of the type the OP is concerned that was soft enough for the removal of masking tape to pull it apart or distort it. It's not a soft, spongy door seal; it's a 15 year old windshield gasket. OP, good luck figuring it out. With that, I'm out, too.

    3M Tape DAMAGED window molding!

Yes, I've seen the adhesive layer separated from tape as described, with the exposed side of the adhesive no longer tacky. If it released from the tape, it makes sense that there would be a lack of adhesion between the two. I don't understand what mechanism would raise a portion of the surface...

    3M Tape DAMAGED window molding!

I think this indicates there's a layer of adhesive on the trim. From what he's listed, none of the solvents used were very aggressive. Time to step it up a little and see what will cut through the adhesive.

    Which microfiber towel?

    Which microfiber towel?

I just bought two dozen of AG's $20/12 towels in two colors. They seem fine to me. My old towels are used on wheels and GP cleaning, a dozen new ones for polish, and a different color dozen for sealant or wax. I have a few WW glass cloths, too. Washing each type separately prevents...

    3M Tape DAMAGED window molding!

It sounds much more likely that the adhesive released from the tape, simply leaving a layer of adhesive on the trim. Other than the alcohol, none of those seem like a good solvent for adhesive removal, which explains the results. Several better solvent options have been mentioned. Make sure you...

    Could not remove paint

Paint thinner and mineral spirits are similar; lacquer thinner is generally a much stronger solvent. I'd be concerned about lacquer thinner attacking the paint and plastic. I wouldn't bid the job until you've figured out what that stuff is, how best to remove it, and how much damage you'll have...

    Could not remove paint

Photos may help, especially if you can get some macro shots. It might be concrete or some type of masonry or drywall product. Something like that could resist many solvents, and concrete spray can adhere well to automotive paint if allowed to cure. If the car was parked near a place used to...

    3M Tape DAMAGED window molding!

Fair enough. Start with Goo Gone, move to Goof Off, try 3M Adhesive Remover, etc. Point being, this still may be a recoverable situation.

303 Protectant or Einzsett Cockpit Premium

Sure thing. I was pointing out that proper application makes a big difference in the final results with 303 protectants. Bear in mind that buffing off 303 isn't a onerous task, and that it doesn't take much more effort than a WOWA.
