    Lake Country polishing machine?????

We'll have to see about the pricing. Saw somewhere it may retail for between $600-700! That seems quite steep. Makita offers a very unique design feature in their PO5000C in that it is forced rotation and free-spinning.....for $369.00. On the matter of "user adjustable throw" or what ever they...

    Swirl Removal 2015 Ram 1500 - Black

AaronE, If you want to stay in the Meguiars line-up, their D300 compound is also supposed to be very good, little to no dusting and much more user friendly! Not quite as much cut as M105, but a lot easier to work with. The M105 can be tough, tougher than it needs to be to work with. It is NOT...

    Swirl Removal 2015 Ram 1500 - Black

Hello AaronE, I agree with you regarding the Meguiars product line-up. It is absolutely infuriating to try and navigate through the muddy waters that they have created. They REALLY need to streamline their offerings. It's one of the main reasons I am leaving Meguiars for a different label...

Griots Fast Correcting Cream Vs Meguiars D300

Ronin47, I agree with you on the vast improvements Griot's BOSS Creams offer over some of the "older" compounds/polishes. I've recently started using the BOSS creams and won't be returning to the old, nasty, hard to work with and dusty polishes and compounds of the past. It is a new day!

Makita PO5000C performance in free-spin mode question...

Dr Oldz, I get your point now that the Makita in free spin mode is not where is should be (power wise) and as such it should be considered a forced rotation only. In that way, you are correct sir, it should not be compared to the G15 as it is only free spinning capable.

Makita PO5000C performance in free-spin mode question...

Well, I thought my comparison was reasonably fair as both machines are powered by a 7.5 Amp motor. The Makita advertises it is a "Dual Mode" machine offering forced rotation as well as free-spin capability. The GG G15 is solely a free-spinning mechanism. I was comparing the free spinning power...

    Forced Rotation VS Free Spinning...

Hmmm....very interesting. This is a good comparison. I am surprised to hear that considering they are both 7.5 amp motors. What a shame. Kudos to GG on the BOSS G15!

    Forced Rotation VS Free Spinning...

I completely agree that technique is key. I guess I am interpreting the negative reviews on the Makita to mean that for a 7.5 amp machine, it is stalling way too often. For those that have actually used the Makita PO5000C, and something similar, say the Grio'ts BOSS G15 (also a 7.5amp motor)...

Makita PO5000C performance in free-spin mode question...

Hello Mike, Thanks in advance for considering my question. I am torn between the Makita PO5000C and the GG BOSS G15. I have read some reviews regarding the Makita easily stalling when in free-spin mode. That is disappointing, especially for a 7.5 Amp machine. Generally, I have not heard anyone...

    Forced Rotation VS Free Spinning...

Some are saying that the Makita, on speed setting "4" in free spinning mode, will pretty much stall under the weight of itself! That does seem pretty bad. We all know how important technique is when using a free spinning machine. It just seems that the Makita is getting a disproportionate number...

    Forced Rotation VS Free Spinning...

So, I've been researching the Makita PO5000C and to my surprise, there are a number of people complaining that it stalls much too easily in free-spin mode. Certainly experience and technique can play a role here. However, for a 7.5Amp machine to be getting numerous complaints of stalling is...

    Forced Rotation VS Free Spinning...

Hello Scott, thanks for your insight. So, I understand that you prefer to switch between the Makita and the BOSS G15 simply to split the time on the machines. With regard to the Makita, how well does it perform in free spinning mode? Comparable to the G15?

    Forced Rotation VS Free Spinning...

Well if that is the case, why isn't every polisher manufacturer going to forced rotation? Seems like most of them are sticking to the free spinning design, at least for now. Also, why would a manufacturer like Makita go through all of the R&D and cost to develop the industry's first and only...

    Jescar top finish machine glaze?

I would stick to the instructions on the bottle. Trust me, the manufacturer wants you to get the best results with their product! Some glazes, Meguiars #7 for example, are a mother to get off if you let it dry. Not a pleasant experience. But if you simply follow the directions, you'll get the...

    Doesn't the bottle have instructions?

    Forced Rotation VS Free Spinning...

I certainly understand the benefit of forced rotation, Being able to power through a tough compounding/correcting session without stalling is easy to understand. When is it better to have a free spinning machine? I ask because I have been looking at the Makita PO5000 polisher. It can run in...

Megs #7 Show Car Glaze on Black Base Coat/Clear Coat...

Well, is there another glaze product on the market that people seem to like, that will provide a similar deep, wet, rich look to a black base coat/clear coat? I understand the #7 can be a bit finicky when it comes to removal as well. A bit of a learning curve if you are not familiar with it.

Megs #7 Show Car Glaze on Black Base Coat/Clear Coat...

It's my understanding that Meguiars #7 Show Car Glaze was originally intended for single stage paints. The oils in #7 worked wonders to really bring out that wet look. Then top with an LSP to lock it in. Well, can one expect the same results when using it on a black base coat/clear coat? Is it...

Cleaning bird poop... Full wash or QD?

In my experience, for a single spot, I would go the QD route. Time is key also. The next level would be to simply do a "spot wash". Hit it with a hose, soap it up, then rinse. If the whole car has a layer of light dust, you could do a spot wash for the bird dropping, then just rinse the rest of...

Experience with Griots Garage Premium Carnuba Paste Wax

Hello Loach. Excellent video. Thanks. Like I previously stated, I'm reasonably sure I will like the initial results of the GG's Premium Carnuba Paste wax. Nothing looks better on black than Carnuba in my opinion. I am mostly trying to find out if it will last any longer than any other comparable...
