    Question about removing small dents

They usually have a base fee. I've been quoted $75 to $100. It will depend on the panel for a couple in the door. I have one and they wanted $75. I questioned if it was $75 per dent and basically got to no they just want a base fee to do any work. I only had two small ones in different...

    Anybody using the Canon T1i

Good Stuff. Curious, what resolution do you guys shoot with. I was reading from one Pro he doesn't shoot anything over 6 megapixel that is going on the web? Also, for these pix you have posted here, what resolution are you posting them and what are you doing to convert them to a smaller size...

    Anybody using the Canon T1i

Awesome, thanks guys for taking the time to post this great info. I'm more so looking for pix to put on a website showing the whole car. Think posting in a sales ad etc. A lot of cars posted on those sites have crappy pix. I think early morning or late after noon, always using a flash to...

    Anybody using the Canon T1i

I want to learn how to get better pix of cars for when I'm selling one and to post on my website of the work I've done. I wasn't getting what I wanted out of P & S's so I decided to get a start dslr. I went with the T1i with the 18-55 & 55-200mm kit. Should be here next week. I've been...

    It's HARD to polish silver...

Re: It's pointless to polish silver... 07, Are you polishing outside? That may be part of your problem. I do my details in doors under florescent lights. If it's really tough I position my 1300w halogens to where I see. When starting use a piece of tape, If find that also makes a big...

    Polishing: OMG WHAT HAPPENED TO...

I would suggest you find a junk panel. Work on it and see how long it takes to get through. I had a red mustang panel. I worked on it for on and off for a month. I did things such as scratching it with Brillo but it wore through faster than I would have thought. I think I worked it 5 to 10...

Questions for the weekend and on the side detailers

I should clarify they didn't point blank "blame" me but asked me several times if I condition the leather. I was kind wanting to say, seriously, whether it has been or not you can wear black wet leather that will transfer. But it worked out. Now when I do it I make sure people know...

Questions for the weekend and on the side detailers

These methods rely on you catching every little thing every time. Cars I've had brought to me have been so dirty in some cases you can't realistically see everything under the dirt. Plus they want to drop it off and not wait and they won't come back when you have it washed just to sign off...

    Technique

Here's a thread I started on this. http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/tricks-tips-techniques/22125-meg-s-105-205-processes.html For tough stuff I really like the LC 6.5 Purple foam wool pad. I mostly use it with my Flex 3403 but there should be a size for your PC. The UC is a little less...

    Heater for a one-car garage

I know it does seem small. I was contemplating on what to get and we had that we use in the bathroom some times so I tried it. What I do is turn it on about 10 to 15 minutes before I go out. If I want to start immediately, I usually put on a sweatshirt and whatever. I then do the things...

    Heater for a one-car garage

mcpp66, I have a two car garage I do a lot of work in. 22x22 The walls are insulated but the door is not. When it's 30 to 40 outside, it's in the 50's inside. I was looking for a propane heater but took a electric heater we got at Costco. It's one of the Parabolic dish types and it will...

    Cleaning a trunk???

What about a hand held vacuum with a rotating brush on it. Think we have a old Hoover we use on the steps. I haven't ever run across what you're referring too so I haven't tried it. Not sure of the quality of this particular product but something like it. Sidewinder Hand Vac - Hoover

    Festool RO 150 demo

I just heard from my contact and verified the Shinex isn't available in the US. Part of the reason is tools have to go through a costly UL approval. He said there have been talks about bringing this to the US but no timeframe has been set. Festool USA has a list of tools available in the US.
