The WORST car I have ever detailed - 20 hour "rush job"

No sticker bushes, but he DID used to "wipe it down" after a rain or when it was dirty with a DRY cloth to "clean it." :wowwow: When I told him what NOT to do to care for it's "new" paint, he just kept looking guiltier and guiltier - seems like he used to do EVERYTHING I was saying NOT to do! So...

The WORST car I have ever detailed - 20 hour "rush job"

LOL - he said he made sure to hit the bathroom BEFORE he came down. He picked the car up Saturday morning, and stayed, talking to me for about 45 minutes - WITHOUT HIS EYES LEAVING THE CAR - LOL. Less than an hour later, he calls me and said while he was going to get something to eat: "Everyone...

The WORST car I have ever detailed - 20 hour "rush job"

This car belongs to a close friend. He is my polar opposite when it comes to car-care - he doesn`t do it at ALL! This is a black, 2013 Challenger, that`s SUPPOSED to be black, but unfortunately is more of a grey-ish and LOADED with scratches and swirls

    New detailing chair!

But it WORKS! And since it's not a roller chair, and I have to stand up to move it from panel to panel, it gives my legs the exercise they NEED after years of sitting for hours at a desk.

    New detailing chair!

Well, here's MY "New to Me" detailing chair ... I had an older folding chair (a real CHEAP one), that the crossbar on the legs finally rusted out. So I went to my mom's house to see if she had an old chair that I could use. Turns out she inherited from my grandmother a whole bunch of chairs...

For those who suggested a BLUE bowtie, instead of black or gold

I debadged the trunk bowtie a few years ago, but decided to leave the chrome "CAMARO" on the front fenders. The 'blue' was done as a joke for those who had suggested it and the tape was only there long enough for the picture - it's "Back to Black" now - the way I like it.

For those who suggested a BLUE bowtie, instead of black or gold

For the "Old Schoolers" who prefer the original blue bowtie, I did this today with cheap vinyl tape to see how it looks. What do you think?

TW Flex Wax & TW Graphene Ceramic Paste wax

True, but in MY (psychotic) mind, applying it to a dry car (you would think) would make it stronger - more longevity etc. And I don't like using drying aids, because I'm PARANOID about getting anything in my PFM towel that will diminish its abilities to so effectively dry a car.

TW Flex Wax & TW Graphene Ceramic Paste wax

I still prefer the "dry" application method. Maybe I'm just a neat-freak that doesn't like drying aids or spray on-rinse off products :dunno:

TW Flex Wax & TW Graphene Ceramic Paste wax

Realistically, either one could be the base coat. Personally, I use the Ceramic/Graphene Paste 1st, then the Flex Wax

wash, clay and seal detailers??? NO WONDER PEOPLE FLIPP WHEN YOU TELL THE $350 $450

I'm not in it for the money. I detail for two reasons: 1) It relaxes me, kind of like a "Zen" thing, and 2) I'm retired (bored) and looking for something I enjoy to occupy my time. For family/CLOSE friends, price is never mentioned, although most slip me $100 for a detailed wash, paint...

Need opinions on a 'Before' & 'After' cosmetic modification

You're thinking the exact thing I was, which was why I originally blacked it out with Peel Coat that after a few years wore off. The only "chrome" on the car was the "CAMARO" on the front fenders, the taillight bezels, the ring around the front bowtie, the silver trim rings on the wheels and of...

Need opinions on a 'Before' & 'After' cosmetic modification

I did this a few years ago with RUSTOLEUM "Peel Coat" and it lasted quite a while before the "paint" started wearing off and peeling. This time I used FLEX Tape (yes, the stuff you see on TV). I had bought a small roll to fix a leak in my shower, and when I was looking up vinyl sheets to redo...

Is the "damp towel / dry towel" method REQUIRED for Hybrid Solutions Spray Waxes?

I HAVE Wet Wax and used to use it (and liked it), but then I picked up my Griot's PFM drying towel, and I don't want to get anything IN the towel that might hamper it's abilities. ALTHOUGH, I DID use the Wet Wax DRY once, and it DID need the damp cloth wipe, but it did make the car look great...

Is the "damp towel / dry towel" method REQUIRED for Hybrid Solutions Spray Waxes?

Sorry, this video ended up a lot longer than I thought it would. I filmed it in sections, and when I put them all together, well ....

    Question about cleaning Urofiber pads

Yes, you heard right. I only have one urofiber pad - never having used one before, I didn't want to get several and decide they weren't for me. PLUS, since I'm now on a fixed income, I can only buy things "I" want/need with money I make from detailing, and I needed a few other things from Turtle...

    Question about cleaning Urofiber pads

I recently (finally) got a Urofiber 50/50 pad for my orbital polisher and used it yesterday (that thing is AWESOME BTW) to finally get rid of some of the deeper imperfections on the Camaro. I used my air compressor to blow it out after every few panels and when I was finished with it, I took...

    Mustang Mach 1

Not a HUGE Mustang fan (as I'm a Camaro guy at heart), but I will give credit where credit is due. That IS a really nice car (AFTER you worked your magic on it). The shaker hood I'm more "on the fence" about, but it doesn't totally rub me the wrong way. The rear louvers though - I'd rather see...

    Microfibers linting heavily

I'm sure this is a 90% ME issue, and a 5% microfiber towel issue and a 5% glossy as all get-out BLACK CAR issue, but I've noticed, particularly when removing a spray sealant, that there is micro-lint over large portions of my Camaro. I'm using the Turtle Wax Spray Waxes, primarily the Ceramic...

    Honestly wondering???????

 I was told THE SAME THING by the maintenance guy at the department, and there were just over a half dozen women working there compared to a few dozen men
