NEGLECTED Camaro interior - Before & After

The last year of my career, I was working 12 to 16 hour shifts (AND I lived an hour away, so in reality they were 14 -18 hour shifts). So my life was LITERALLY work, sleep, work again. Even my days off were not for rest and relaxation - they were for RECOVERY, so I didn't have much (if any) time...

    The Tire Cleaning Comparison Thread

For those that DON'T know, I started a YouTube Channel. Here are two videos covering the Turtle Wax (long named) Tire Cleaner, and the TW Tire Shine. (Please forgive me for the videos not being too well done, they were two of my first, and BEFORE I had a tripod). And yes, I should have put two...

    The Tire Cleaning Comparison Thread

Interesting comparison. Like Briarpatch and PA Detailer, I have found the long-named Turtle Wax to be the best tire cleaner I have ever used, in your picture of it sprayed on the tire, I noticed that (like every other picture/video where I have seen it used), IMO far too much product is being...

Any downside to polishing the entire car with a light polishing pad, then go more aggressive if needed?

The best advice I can give is that you ALWAYS want to start with the LEAST aggressive method(s) FIRST. That being said, going around the whole car with a light polish IS NOT a bad idea. Depending on the condition of the car, it may be all you need to do to "fix" whatever issues you are looking...

Can a drying towel be too large

I have the smaller of the two PFMs (I THINK it's the 25x35), and if I 'flood rinse' either the Camaro or the wife's Escape, then the smaller towel is more than enough and gets only moderately damp. If I DON'T flood rinse them, then it is marginal and actually gets wet and will SOMETIMES leave...

"The Absorber" - the microfiber drying towel of the 80's does anyone still use it? I do.

A few months ago, I came across an old "Absorber" towel, the synthetic chamois that was all the rage in the 80's. It was all dried out and hard, but curiosity got the best of me, so I soaked it with water and it immediately returned to its old state - almost like new again. So I wondered ... I...

My latest video - The final outcome on my MIL's 2010 Ford Edge

Since I've changed my mindset on detailing (go slower, and to heck with "perfection"), it has really become a a really good form of stress relief for me ... doing something I enjoy and am good at. And getting rid of the stressors that "do it faster" and "be perfect" had become, have made it all...

My latest video - The final outcome on my MIL's 2010 Ford Edge

Thanks! Like I mentioned in the video, this car DOES NOT see much love at all. Until last year, I was the only one to even wash it, let alone detail it, ever since she's had it. I THINK, last year one of my nephews tried his hand at detailing, but I don't think that panned out for him, because...

My 2nd video is up ... I REALLY need to plan these things better and 'script' myself LOL

I THINK it might me, it was my late father in law's, we just never had the chance to take it to an electronic recycling event yet - keep missing them. As for the vids, THANKS. They are shot and posted. The more recent ones, I do use the pause button because it's just a bit difficult to hold my...

My 2nd video is up ... I REALLY need to plan these things better and 'script' myself LOL

WOW! Thanks! It's good to know that I'll have other experience detailers "lurking about" to make sure *I* get it right and "Keep it Simple."

My 2nd video is up ... I REALLY need to plan these things better and 'script' myself LOL

I'm basing my channel towards people who are JUST STARTING to get infected by the detailing bug and either have no one to turn to to teach them, or get a massive case of overload from the chemical companies, FACEBOOK detailing pages, misinformed You Tube 'detailers,' etc. Hence the name...

What's some of your favorite tools and what's your next big purchase?

My favorite tool hands down has to be my Porter Cable 7424 (the original one, not the XP). 21 years old, and the only thing to ever go wrong with it was the power cord split where it connects to the polisher. $35 later and I was back in business. It has MADE me far more money than it cost. Not...

OK, now I'm just rambling (video)

Thanks, peer approval DOES mean a lot. I am ACTUALLY seriously thinking about running with the You Tube channel idea. I've named "my" channel: "Detailing Basics - Keeping it Simple." And I'm going to TRY to dispel a lot of the untruths and false info floating around out there that probably...

OK, now I'm just rambling (video)

Thanks, peer support means a lot. Funny thing is, SEVERAL people, who know I'm into detailing and have seen my work have TOLD ME to start a You Tube channel. But I am VERY self-conscious and kind of camera shy, so that 6 minutes of recording and talking REALLY stretched my comfort zone. But I...

OK, now I'm just rambling (video)

It took me 4 days and 20+ hours of detailing the wife's Escape (she should have never left me unsupervised), and here's the results. Forgive the rambling and occasion misspoken word.

My FIRST attempt at posting a video

If you have your sound on, please try to ignore my heavy breathing. the camera was close to my face (so I could see what I was filming), and I'm a bit out of shape after years of being sedentary on my job - but I'm getting better LOL.
