Hi guys, first time really asking a question here. I have a mustang convertible with leather interior (at least I think its leather, doesn't much feel like it anymore) and it has gotten very hard and looks pretty bad. Is there any way to condition and soften the leather back up or am I out of luck?

If you have tips on detailing a boat I'd love to hear them. My main problem right now is removing some mildew stains from the vinyl without destroying it. I'm very limited in products I can use so any help would be much appreciated.

I would think if the tonneau cover is smooth paint matched to the truck then yes I would treat it just like a hood or trunk lid. However, if its one of the textured, hard plastic or soft vinyl ones I would use a material specific cleaner and protectant.

Last September I sprayed a motorcycle blue pearl metallic and white pearl for a friend. The front fender got a few bugs in it after 2 coats of clear so I sanded it lightly with some 600 grit, wiped it with wax and grease remover and shot two more coats of clear on it and it turned out...

I think it was a good outcome. Let him do a halfway job and see how much work it is then maybe he will appreciate the great job you would have done.

What are you going to be using on the vinyl seats? The reason I ask is because a pamphlet came with my boat and outlined what to use on the vinyl. For mine (G&T marine vinyl) it stated to only use Fantastik to clean and Formula 303 to protect. However, that was 5 years ago and other specialty...

Wait time can vary depending on what brand clear the body shop uses, their mixture ratio and how the paint is cured. Some bodyshops will put a coat of cheap wax or glaze on after they cut and buff... sometimes this is to hide their shoddy polishing skills. I personally use Southern Polyurethanes...

Thanks guys. I just bought a wash mitt, not an expensive one, but it is brand new. Don't have a car wash specific bucket, but plan on using 2 buckets from now on. I also just bought a wheel brush and some smaller brushes for the crevices. Thanks for the advice killr... I absolutely believe in...
