    OptiCoat 2.0 Failure

So if using 2.0 and after 5 minutes there is high spots not completely dry, what do you do? Let it dry some more or buff it off? If the former, how do you tell when it's completely dry? Sorry for my ignorance, but it want to learn as much as possible before trying the non pro version on my cars.

    Wax stripping from a foam.

Does anyone know what will strip a wax, sealant or coating? I know they are not the same and different products may be needed even at each level depending on the brand used (wax, sealant or coating). Dawn is commonly mentioned to strip wax, but I have seen it proved wrong that it may add a...

    Car Polisher and accessories advice

The PC is a great machine! IMO, people like the GG6 better because the motor has more power to spin pads and the lifetime warranty.

    Review: Wolfgang DGPS 3.0

Can I ask how did it outperform PL? Same car? Same prep? Same weather? Same storage (street or garage)? Not trying to call you out, but I do want to know more about it.

    Rupes LHR 15ES vs GG6

Wow, you guys are harsh. MODS, please delete this thread. Objectivity is pointless. My intentions were stated and obviously ignored. Thanks for not listening. Thanks for not listening to my original intentions.

    Rupes LHR 15ES vs GG6

I'm not saying the Rupes is better, even though it cost more. Will spending $200 more give me $200 more of a better polish? Not $200 more for sure IMO. What can qualify one polisher is better based on price? There are clones sold at 1/3 the cost of the Rupes that can discredit the $200 price...

Civic Si Engine Detail w/1Z Einszett Vinyl Rubber Care

Very nice ride! Haven't kept up with Hondas lately and didn't know the Si came in a four door. Looking to replace my Mazda 3 soon too.

    Rupes LHR 15ES vs GG6

I just polished my 2006 Mazda this weekend with my new Rupes and I must say there's a huge difference from my GG6. Both times were done with LC 5.5" flat white pads and Menzerna PF 2500 and Powerlock applied after. The GG6, the paint came out okay but with the Rupes, the gloss was really extra...

Anyone use the 7424xp with 4" pads?

PC 7336 used with 3.5" LC BP and LC 4" pads. GG6 now used for applying sealant and wax. Rupes LHR 15ES for correction and loving it!

    Rupes 15 pads

That was the case until the Rupes mini came out and made the Rupes 3" BP available. This should not be a problem for any Rupes ES or Duetto polisher (I believe) http://www.autogeek.net/rupes-3-inch-backing-plate.html

    Rupes 15 pads

Yes, Allen bolt, you are right. You are locked into the Rupes BP "system". Is that so bad? With the 5" BP, you can use many different pads if you want to. I used LC flat 5.5" while I was waiting for my 6" Rupes pads to come in. Now that they are here, I'm not sure what pad I'll be using...

Comments on Paint Cleaners and Fine Polishes

Swanicyouth, awesome thread and will keep this as a reference. I do have to say that SF4500 on a white LC 5.5" flat pad does correct swirls (dealer installed) and shallow RIDS on my '13 Toyota RAV4 with soft paint using a GG6 or Rupes LHR 15ES. It does nothing for the hard paint on my Mazda 3...

    Rupes 15 pads

As far as I know, you can't change the backing plate to another Vendor's BP. BP's from LC and others have the bolt on the BP that's permanent. The Rupes BP has a hole for a bolt with an Allen head. You can change between Rupes brand BP though. I did read somewhere that you can use the...

How to remove scratches in glass - Wiper Scratches from Beach Sand

Does this work when you park on the street overnight and in high humidity where in the early morning, dew is on your windshield? You can't drive faster than 30mph for at least a mile and have no choice but to use the wipers to clear the glass? I haven't tried any glass sealant on my car that's...

A meet with a fellow Geek

It's really great reading about get togethers like this. I've met many people through a local car club that I helped put together many cruises and get togethers (Honda S2000). Most of the people I met were from an online car forum so it's great to get to know the person behind the screen name...

    Grit guard filter

Wouldn't that need forced water pressure through the filter to work? You are not going to get much water pressure from rinsing a mit in there.
