Just tear them off. That's what i do with all my Mf towels. Prevent scratching. I doubt you would have a problem with them doing engine bay and interior work but i wouldn't take a chance.

If you get a bit bigger pads I would look into getting the matching counter weight. I realized I was using the wrong counter weight, got the correct one and and big improvement in the handling and vibration. -Jordan
