Wetsanding Project - 1929 Ford Model A Sedan Delivery Streetrod

I hope I can make it! Can you put me down as a maybe? I have a "maybe" detail penciled in for Saturday, but if the customers schedule doesn't line up I'd love to join the fun. P.s. Have you tried Paqui Ghost Pepper chips? If not I'll bring along a sample :)

Trying Opti Coat Gloss on wheels but cant see it

When coating wheels I just lay it on thick. I figure the wheels really need the protection so I'm not shy with the coating. Even with good lighting I usually only notice high spots on the creases or crevices of the wheels and give them a light wipe. Which applicator are you using? Maybe you're...

What headphones do you use while detailing

If I'm outside or moving a lot I go with my JVC HA-FX1X In-Ear Buds with Comply Foam Isolation tips. Amazing bang for the buck. If I'm doing paint correction inside or in the A/C I'll have my AKG K553's. And I always have my Fiio A3 Portable Amp connected. I can't listen to music with...

    Your favorite "smelling" leather cleaner?

The new McKee's 37 Leather Cleaner 70/30 is my favorite too. It's on the mild side but it's got that perfect leather scent and works amazing.

McKees37 Leather Shampoo 70/30 and Leather Guard UV50 Review

Nice review Pat and I love this stuff too. I had a customer specifically ask for special attention on the leather seats on both his F350 and Explorer and was really happy with how they came out using those two products. The 70/30 smells perfect (light leather scent) and cleaned the dirty seats...

    HD Cut-FG400

I don't think so. HD Cut is a non-diminishing compound, so it won't break down as fine as FG400. You'll have to follow up with HD Polish for best results. Source: HD Cut

    What computer are you using?

We are very similar! I have an i5-3750k system now, upgraded from an i5-2500k system and a Q6600 modded XPS system before that. And I too have been thinking about switching (for the first time ever) to an AMD setup since I hear such good things and would love to have more cores for video...

    Steam cleaner for detailing business

I have a Vapamore MR-100 and want to upgrade. I don't think that MC-1275 will have enough power for pro use.

    HD Speed on back order.

It's still available and on display on 3D's website. If it wasn't, then I'd start to worry. I'm looking forward to picking some more up at Detail Fest :)

Coating questions before I make my purchase

A finishing polish is all you need to remove fresh high spots. I like using the CarPro Suede MF Towels because they're super soft and won't lint.

    Need help for nasty carpets!

Yep, sounds like over-wetting or there's still residue left behind. If it takes too long to dry carpet or fabric, it can turn hard. Or if there's residue left behind, it can turn hard. Once the water you were using evaporates, the residual soap and chemicals dry into the carpet fibers. The...

Recommended starter, combo kit for beginner

Wolfgang Porter Cable 7424xp Ultimate Polishing Kit $250 Griots Garage Swirl Remover Kit $235 Between those two, I'd go with the Wolfgang PC kit. Although it's missing a clay bar kit and not very many microfiber towels, and I'm a bigger fan of the GG6. I like dlc95's idea of building your own...

    Gyeon Booster...anyone tried it?

Works great. Just be sure to use it out of direct sunlight and that the surface is nice and cool.
