Polishing a new car and masking

Mike...EXACTLY what just happened to me on the Escape!!! I "thought" I was careful...but that lower trim you are talking about is at such an angle that I wasn't able to see exactly where I was going. Just now, I was coating the side of the vehicle and noticed a real thin line of leftover 3D...

QD Mix of N-914 and Aquawax?

It's on the list for sure, after I run out of my Gallon of AW. Lots of good threads about 931/932. Bob...thanks for the suggestions. To quote a line from a Beastie Boys song: "Slow and Low, that is the tempo" ;) E

QD Mix of N-914 and Aquawax?

Point taken, and that definitely would be an option in the future (personally, with something like N-914, though, I can utilize it in many different ways, it's very versatile, and I was just trying to see if I could save some time). BUT...I have N-914, and I have AW, and I don't feel like...

QD Mix of N-914 and Aquawax?

Hi all, Searched, and couldn't find any info on this concoction. Mention of Aquawax mixed with ONR via google, though. What would be a good ratio to mix, when utilizing N-914 as a QD (ratio as straight QD/waterless is 128:1)? Thoughts/experiences? I am trying to save some time, since I...

    Cleaning White Car

Can I ask what type of vehicle you have with this white paint? Reason I ask is I just took care of one daughter's white (Jeep Compass), and it was easy with my PC 7424 to remove these things and correct swirls after claying, while the other white one(VW Tiguan) was a real bear. Just go with...

Keeping Newly Coated Car safe from Morning Dew Until Cured?

Thanks for the tips and experience...I have coated cars now for the last 2 years (4 now in the barn, and one got a second coat in August), and haven't had a problem with morning dew yet, but didn't pay attention to the car the next day to see whether anything affected them at all. Don't exactly...

Keeping Newly Coated Car safe from Morning Dew Until Cured?

Hey all, I am recoating my wife's DD this weekend, and have come across a few threads regarding placing "something" on top in order to keep dew from affecting the coat, until it's fully cured. Can't find those threads now, but haven't looked too hard (yet). But I am more curious as to how/why...

Winterizing = FK1000P on top of ceramic coat?

Thanks much...didn't think about the fact that the coating may actually "stop" the sealant from holding. Appreciate the comments and experiences, and will reply to the why!!!!, with "why not!!!!!", since I didn't think there would be any harm done. The only stupid question is the one not...

Winterizing = FK1000P on top of ceramic coat?

All, Long story short...I coated my daughter's car this summer, prior to her going back up to school in Bnghamton, NY. She cam back this past weekend, so I had the chance to do a decon wash. After the wash, the car beaded just like new, no problem there (I was worried, because the coating was...

    Long Term Ceramic Coating Storage?

mgavin...I can't thank you enough for your experience on this. Here I am worrying about 50ml of liqud, and your going through this 1 liter at a time! Curious...do you keep the liter amounts refrigerated when not in use? Or should that not matter, providing the seal on the bottle is air tight?

    Long Term Ceramic Coating Storage?

Are you saying that you have stored Mckee's for longer after switching the bottle? I had tried to store them in a plastic bottle, sealed with Saran Wrap around the threads, yet had issues with removal. Here's what I stored them in...could be I didn't flip over to this method soon enough, however:

    (Door/Window/trunk/Sunroof) Rubber seals cleaner+protectant AIO-Meguiar's M5716SP?

Slightly off topic now, but I searched the part number, and they are still available out there for around $60 (quick search only). If you're anything like me (my daily "subway" car is a 2008 Yaris, just over 111,000 miles, and will hopefully keep going for much longer), I would want to stop any...
