    Cutting microfiber

Nobody has input on this? There are some situations where I would like to use a smaller piece, and just use something I have laying around. Guess I will just have to try it, and see whether it frays quickly. Eric

Sorry, not a detailing question exactly, but I need help removing a windshield mounted phone holder

You could also try a piece of dental floss, and work it back and forth behind it. Eric

Silicon Products + Bodywork/Paint Work issues

Not a dumb question at all...I was about to ask the same thing. Turns out that my daughter's car got hit in the right rear door by some person coming out of a parking spot. All metal work, three panels need to be blended, and the car is coated with Mckee's 37 v2. So thanks...and Brian, thanks...

Nice 4-Runner! Looks like around a 91 or 92. Great condition. I had an 87, real workhorse. Eric

    Door rubber stuck frozen?

Hi all, This AM my daughter's Tiguan had all of it's doors frozen (just the rubber seal, fortunately, not the lock mechanisms themselves, which is another story on my other daughter's Jeep Compass). Anything I can use to avoid this issue? All I have in house is 303, which when I get home...

Help - Fire Hose Stuff on My Paint

Thought that if the solution would help dissolve the white specs, it would avoid the need for aggressive removal, and thus minimize the marring. Whether or not the solution removes the coating is another story, as well, since I have read conflicting results on the forum about that. Eric

Help - Fire Hose Stuff on My Paint

Wow...glad you're OK. Don't know whether this will help, but I did a little googling for you, and found this; might be a shot in the dark, but it may help. site:Properly Eliminate Fire Extinguisher Residue | Fire Extinguisher Cleanup Tips DRY CHEMICAL FIRE EXTINGUISHER Sweep or vacuum any...

    Trouble with CQuartz UK Longevity--Tips?

I was using Megs ultimate car wash, have D110 on tap. However, hard to do full wash here in the North East, so last few times have either been rinseless or waterless (ONR). I use DG Aquawax as my drying aid. I am 95% sure the coating is still on the vehicle, I was just curious if there was a...

    Trouble with CQuartz UK Longevity--Tips?

Makes sense...easier to determine on horizontal rather than vertical panels, though. Guess it's just by "sight".

    Trouble with CQuartz UK Longevity--Tips?

As a beginner in coatings (used McKee's 37 about 6 months ago), how can I be totally sure that the coating is still on the car? Is there a "surefire" method, or is it just by experience? Eric

Wheel barrels that aren’t worth cleaning?

Curious...when you say "coat", do you mean just normal coat, similar to what you do on the paint? Or is there something more durable, that, even if they do get caked, the "coat" will protect from pits and more extensive damage? Eric

    2015 Black Mustang Swirl Remover

After doing a lot of searching on the same topic, in the same predicament as you (not black, however, but a darker gray), I was down to two products, 3D One (which I went with), or Griot's Fast Correcting Cream. Both act differently, based on the pad you use. Lot's of good videos on these type...

The Post a Picture of Your Ride as it Sits Thread

Looks nice in that lighting. I'm pretty near you..noticed that with my new regimen using DG Aquawax as a drying aid has made the frost cover quite evenly on the Tiguan ;) I also don't mind parking very far from the stores when in the parking lot; rather do that than take up 2 spots. Eric

    Contaminants on ceramic coating

Understood, but road salt, junk kicking up, etc. doesn't seem to get "stuck" into the clear coat as much as the "fallout", at least for me. The stuff I'm talking about are the pieces of grit that only clays and a polish take out, not the stuff that can be taken off with something like 3M...

    Contaminants on ceramic coating

LOL..."fingertip test", not "baggie test". You nailed it, but unfortunately, with the way things are going in my life, I wanted to maximize "protection longevity", so I could take care of other, more important things, according to my other half ;). I haven't even been able to find the time to...
