Sounds good but that is not enough light IMO. In my personal garage which is 21x13 I have 5 48" double T8's in an H pattern and it is enough light for most of the car. I add lights to the end so it is a square 8 pattern. I also have them on two switches so the lights that go the long way come...

Did you spray the boat down with degreaser first? Usually roll off will take most of it off. Otherwise a wool pad and compound get rid of it quick.
