Drying aid to go w/ PBL coating (not PBL QD)

Not sure what you mean by compressed air - do you mean blowing dry with a leaf blower, etc.?

Drying aid to go w/ PBL coating (not PBL QD)

Just coated the wife's car with PBL paint coating. Wondering what you all use for drying aids with this coating. I honestly can't justify the cost of the PBL QD. Thanks.

Can a detailing product damage a driveway?

Here's an update. I did a test spot on the driveway using Tarminator in the same way I would use it on a car: spray, let dwell ~75", hose off. After 24 hours there is only a very slight discoloration in that spot (a bit darker and more "burnt" looking) but it was so subtle I didn't feel...

    Fighting Losing Battle

Why not try a coating? My wife has a black DD that sits outside all day at work through blazing summers and upstate NY winters. I applied Ultima Paint Guard sealant last winter and I think it made it about 4 months. I'm hoping to get at least a year out of the Pinnacle Black Label coating with...

    Wolfgang Exterior Trim Sealant

I've had really good luck w/ WETS (lasted months and looks dark and nice) and prep is not hard at all. You might be interested to read this review: http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/product-reviews/84012-review-blackfire-total-trim-tire-sealant-vs-wolfgang-exterior-trim-sealant.html

Paint iscoloration behind rear wheels-what to do?

Possibly, but I have to wait 30 days for the Dr. Colorchip to fully cure before either polishing or coating. We'll see where it is in a month. Thanks!

Paint iscoloration behind rear wheels-what to do?

OK, folks, here are the before and after shots. Sorry for the delay. I washed and dried the car ('13 brilliant black Audi A5) then compounded with with Wolfgang Uber (LC orange pad), polished with Megs 205 (LC white pad), then IPA wipedown followed by Dr. Colorchip. Let the Dr. CC dry for an...

Can a detailing product damage a driveway?

Thanks for the detailed response! As I remember, the day the asphalt was laid down it was somewhere in the 80s. However, the plant where it came from was far away (about 40 minute or so drive). I do have a 5-year guarantee on the work and will show it to the contractor.

Can a detailing product damage a driveway?

Thanks for the detailed reply. This is a completely new driveway, not a repave. Don't know if that makes a difference nor do I know exactly what was used for the driveway but I do know it came from a plant that also supplies the DOT. No neighbors, we live in a very rural area. The divots do...

OK, hopefully this link to the closeup of the driveway will work: That's my wedding ring for scale.

Can a detailing product damage a driveway?

Thanks for the responses. This is what my wife thinks happened. That the "divots" were already there and that the Tarminator pooled in there with the runoff and changed the color from back to gray. Can't be sure the divots weren't there before (see above) but the patterning of the divots is...

Can a detailing product damage a driveway?

It was the green. I doubt it too but I can't for the life of me figure out what could have made those marks. No one drove on the driveway except me taking the car out and back into the garage. The marks are only on that side of the driveway. Perhaps some kind of animal? Miniature meteor shower?

Can a detailing product damage a driveway?

I cleaned my wife's car yesterday and this afternoon noticed these small, shallow divots in the driveway on the side where her car was located. I can't unfortunately get the close-up pic to upload but basically there a bunch of pea-to-nickel size small indentations in the driveway that are gray...

Paint iscoloration behind rear wheels-what to do?

I think you may have nailed it, Rodney. The lines where there is no white residue _does_ line up with the lines between the blocks on the tire tread. I did try some IPA wipe on the area and it did help but did not completely eliminate the problem. I think my course of action now will be to...

Paint iscoloration behind rear wheels-what to do?

Well, since the area is pretty much almost under the car, it's possible I might have missed it (not a pro). I'll try and get some better pics. OK, thanks! The car hasn't been driven since curing (just quickly outside and back in the garage to check for any streaking in daylight).

Paint iscoloration behind rear wheels-what to do?

And just to be clear, what I'm wondering about is the white "haze" around the rock chips, not the chips themselves. Thanks!

Paint iscoloration behind rear wheels-what to do?

Thanks, Hump. Yes, this is a daily driver. If it is road rash then I can go the route of touch-up paint. I just wanted to eliminate some steps if it was either that or compound. Not sure which....

Paint iscoloration behind rear wheels-what to do?

Thanks, GF! I used Black Label coating and is has been curing since last Friday. If it is leftover compound/polish, does my plan to recompound/polish/clean/recoat just that area sound like a good one?

Paint iscoloration behind rear wheels-what to do?

I corrected and coated my wife's car last week. I just noticed that on the bottom of the area between the rear bumper and the rear wheel there is this discoloration (see attached). Not sure if that was some leftover compound/polish that I didn't see/buff or what. I'm thinking that it was just a...
