    You detail cars?

Woof. What kind of vehicle was this? The seats look like late-'90s/very early '00s Toyota truck/SUV seats.

Anyone tried the new headlight kits?

Did that study happen to mention what % of the OEM reference is achieved by "good" aftermarket housings like say Depo or TYC? I completely agree that new OEM housings are the way to go (and the very knowledgeable people on the Daniel Stern Lighting and Candlepower forums very emphatically...

First time machine polishing - Product recommendations?

I was planning to use an IPA solution as a paint prep, but would consider buying Eraser if there's a meaningful benefit. I know I've heard Eraser has more lubricity (is that a real word?) than IPA solutions which makes it a little easier to wipe off and smells better, but are there other...

First time machine polishing - Product recommendations?

I ended up buying these after reading/watching a number of reviews. I also bought the CarPro CQuartz Lite coating to use as my LSP based on a review you posted a while back - the ease of application sold me.:props: Thanks again for all the helpful advice. I probably won't have time to do...

    Yeah, that's right. High five.

    OPT Hyper-Seal

It won't eliminate a product from your arsenal, but you can use the OPC on interiors as well. I dilute it 10:1 and it works really well to clean grubby switch gear/other high-touch points as well as rubber floor mats etc. IMO it would be way too hot for most interiors at Optimum's recommended...

Best product to remove headliner stain?

Thanks. I probably need to clean the entire headliner in my 4Runner. At least one of the previous owners was a smoker and had a dog, so the whole thing is just dingy in addition to having a few small stains which look like coffee or soda.

Best product to remove headliner stain?

I've only used Folex as a spot stain remover on carpet. What's the best way to use it on a more fragile surface like a headliner? Spray directly on the surface and wipe with a towel or spray on the towel and then wipe?

    Optimum Opti Seal

What's the reason for not using on windshields? Wiper chatter?

    ONR perfect for MIchigan Winters

Those who do rinseless washes during the winter months, what do you do to keep the underbody clean? Toyota does many things well but rust proofing truck frames isn't one of them so I feel like I'd still need to hit the coin-op carwash to spray off the underside every so often.

    Hello from Michigan

Thanks for all the welcome wishes. It's nice to see so many members from Michigan, but I'm sure the rest of you guys are OK, too.;) My username absolutely shows my love of Seinfeld, but my real name is David and I tend to have a bit of a dead pan affect, so it seemed like a fun/fitting alias.

Advice On My New Project Truck

I'll preface by saying that I realize I'm new here and therefore haven't established myself as a credible source so please understand I mean this as constructive feedback and not a personal attack. With that said, I don't think you're going to be happy with the results you can get repairing...

Advice On My New Project Truck

This. Are you planning to do the rust repair yourself or farm it out to someone else? Even without knowing the full extent of the rust in the drip channel (the door is in the way), it looks like it would need a pretty substantial patch, which is complicated by the body lines involved. The...

    Water pressure

I have a Karcher K1700. I haven't used a foam cannon with it but it works well for me and isn't obnoxiously loud. Also, I believe it's one of the few big box store/homeowner grade machines that got a favorable review in Obsessed Garage's tests.

First time machine polishing - Product recommendations?

So basically the body of the tool itself shrouds the pad - I assume this makes it difficult to see what you're doing in addition to making the tool unstable. What's your view on a 3" setup being OK (although still far from good) for vertical surfaces only? The obvious solution is to have a...

First time machine polishing - Product recommendations?

Why is that? I've seen other references to this and also that the G6 polisher doesn't come with the same warning.

First time machine polishing - Product recommendations?

Thanks for all the advice so far. Another question: I'm thinking I also want to get a 3" backing pad and some pads for certain hard-to-reach areas like the A-pillars, door frames, wheel well flares, and front bumper cover. How many should I get? Would 3 cutting and 3 polishing typically be...

First time machine polishing - Product recommendations?

Thanks, this is very helpful. Assuming my clear coat is "typical" for Toyotas and I wanted to try the Jescar line, what pads would you recommend for which products? I'm open to a multi step process, but I also don't have unlimited time so I'd probably prefer to limit it to 2 steps versus 3.

First time machine polishing - Product recommendations?

I realize there's no guarantees but there's also literally hundreds of forum posts where people recommend pads and abrasives based on the same criteria (i.e., type of paint, type and extent of defects and expectations) - I'm just asking if my plan sounds OK or if it's misguided in some way. In...

First time machine polishing - Product recommendations?

Hi all: I've decided to try my hand at machine polishing on a recently acquired 2008 Toyota 4Runner (color is Galactic Gray Mica) and was hoping to get some feedback/recommendations on products and processes. The truck has mild to moderate swirls throughout and some more noticeable scratches...
